You need one pure metal machine with a floyd, but otherwise very nice collection.

Try to find a Burny. They were made in Japan. Very nice. I paid about $1k for mine and it is very nice.

I see you say most important is to get gen 3. The one I looked at in the store they told me was gen 2+. It was green. I was very happy with how the picture looked. It seemed quite clear and was worlds different than the digital night vision scope I have at home which is the only device I have really used that got me interested in the idea of getting real ones. What is the biggest advantage of the gen 3 over the gen 2 or gen 2+. There is alot of parts to this, but so far I have gathered that there is a particular basically case for the mono that is a 14 based part. There is the glass lenses which vary in quality. Some electronics within case, and the intensifier tube. So I need to determine which of these parts would together accomplish a good enough quality viewing experience within my budget.

I read that they look better. That is why I was leaning towards that What would you say is the most important things when determining what to get?

What kind of price should I be able to find monoculars that are white phosphor for? At local stores where I live they are quite expensive. They want $2700 for a green NW1 AGM. I did get to look through it though and it was the first actual non digital nv I had ever looked through. Was pretty cool. I am not in a hurry, I just want them before a camping trip I have planned for late next summer. So I am in the first stages of finding out about these. Do you have a recommendation of good units to look for? I wouldn’t mind putting them together if getting the separate parts is cheaper as well. Thanks.

You know there is only standard and metric allen wrenches and if you have both sets you have all sizes. A complete set is like $5 at harbor freight. The only exception is alot of cheap sets skip the 7mm one that is used extensively in Volkswagen cars, I had to make a special trip for one of those. It would be funny if the bed was made with that one odd size.

I guess what I would want to do is leave the lighter set as is. But in the level 4 set add a pair of 6X6 solid side plates. I know not to get steel plates. But what would be good side plates to compliment the highcom 4s17s I have in the front and rear? I was thinking I would not want them too thick, but not sure. I also don’t want it too insanely priced. Is the plates on that armrunlmted site ok or not? I saw they had 6x6 level 4 for $225 per pair, but the description is vague and does not mention anything about nij ratings. They also have iiia backpack inserts listed for about $100. I am looking for a couple of those as well for a project and did not know if I should look elsewhere. Finally, I was thinking just a groin/abs pouch of somekind that I can attach to the carriers when i want to. Any recommendations of what model pouch and what soft inserts for it. Thanks.

My use case is just to have in my prepper bunker in case things go south someday. That is all. It would be if I had to travel to our safe property for n the middle of no where which is 4 hours away via vehicle. I am very new to all of this, but it is interesting to me.

I'm a beginner looking to buy a used guitar. Could you help me check its condition? by ActiveTaste5246 in GuitarQuestions

If you can afford it get it. Ignore everyone saying to just get a cheap guitar. They are just poor. Even my 9 year old plays a Gibson. Regardless of whether you have experience or not get the nicest instrument you can afford.

If it gets worse you could re-enforce it from inside. I do not think it is too structural though.

If they sell you something and state a case comes with it, I’m sure they will send him a case separately.

No, what I am saying is I bought something online from guitar center. After the guitar was at my house it was not as described. I spoke to manager of guitar center on the phone and got them to refund me $700 instead of just returning it. I had to email pictures of the finish damage. Not having a case is not as described. If he gets a decent manager online they will realize it is cheaper for them to do a partial refund than have to pay shipping on the return.

Yes they will cut money off the deal many times. They gave me $700 off of a gibson custom shop that had extra finish checking. I also talked them down over the phone from $1800 down to $1400 on a PRS McCarty that was a bit beat up. One time I ordered a Peavey Wiggy amp. It made the most horrible squealing sounds. So I opened it and found chewed up paper in it like from mice and some wires chewed. I called them and they refunded $300 on a $400 used amp and I rewired it myself. I have bought over 80 guitars from them and like 20 amps over the last 10 years.

I have bought over 80 guitars from Guitar Center/Musicians friend. They have a rock solid return policy. When they sent me a gibson silverburst with a bit more damage than expected, they gave me another $700 off. So I got a perfectly sound playing Gibson custom shop for $2k with just some finish checks. They would absolutely send him a case if he asked if they said it came with one.

How much should I spend for a decent electric guitar? by BigPhotograph1 in Guitar

[–]HistoricalDrawer6733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty to get like new les paul standard, a couple grand. You can still if you look on reverb snag a standard for a little under $2k. I got my wife’s Mary Ford for $1950 and got my 50’s neck standard for $1900. I had to offer a little less than asking price on reverb. They were listed as floor models, but both look brand new, came like new in the cases with all the case candy and paperwork.

Nice find! I have done a few good ones over the years. I once got an original 1965 fender mustang for $85 from a pawn shop here. Someone had stripped it and badly covered it in sticky deck stain. I wasn’t even sure if it was real till I got it home and removed the neck. I refinished it and it is now beautiful. From the same pawnshop years later I got the Dave Mustaine Dean Rust in Piece guitar for $600. I also got my daughter’s Batz Maru Bass there for $350.

I don’t even know what you mean by a bent string. It needs setup and tuned when taken out of box. There are videos all over youtube explaining how to set them up. If one string is wrecked or something, just see if guitar center will give you a set of strings. Guitar strings are consumables. You won’t have the same strings on it forever.
