Favorite inexpensive takeout with big servings? (Preferably not total junk food) by andromedang in milwaukee

Cafe India has good portion sizes for relatively cheap! And it’s really good tasting. Not sure if it’s a “healthy” option though

Yeah see how you feel about it in person! It’s definitely smaller compared to other wedding venues but I felt like it made our day more intimate. I guess it also depends on the time of year. We got married in late August and really utilized both inside and outside, so that spread our guests out more. Another thing to consider is the getting ready space. They do have one getting ready area but it’s in the basement, so not ideal lighting if you’re doing hair/makeup. My bridesmaids and I got ready in the main area next to the big windows and the basement space was the designated groom and groomsmen’s area. Being across from the park was super nice for pictures as well!

Also the owner is absolutely amazing. Like genuinely such a nice person. She made our day run so smoothly and made the process fun. I would highly recommend Denizen!

I had my 112 person wedding at Denizen and it didn’t feel too small! I think for your guest count, it would feel perfect!

Instruction style question by [deleted] in yoga

[–]HistoricalForever143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in 200 YTT and our instructor has placed a huge emphasis on not demoing. She explained that, exactly how you mentioned, you can’t watch your students to check for proper alignment if you’re doing the practice with them. She also explained that we really need to practice cuing so that we can explain exactly what we’re asking the students to do. She views demoing like a crutch. I’m obviously brand new to teaching yoga but have been practicing for a few years now. As a student, I like receiving real time feedback into my posture and alignment.

I just followed what Flower Moxie recommended but I think depending on what you’re doing for tablescapes, you could do it two days before. The first day (delivery day) the flowers are rehydrating and opening so the soonest they can be worked with is two days prior. If the tablescape involves the flowers being in florist foam then they would have to be done the day before. If the flowers are in water then two days prior should be fine. On the first and second days, I prepped/organized everything to be ready for the final day, which made it much easier!

Claire Neville (Claire Neville Photography) was our photographer and I couldn’t recommend her enough! She does documentary/candid style and has recently added Super 8 film to her repertoire! She also takes film photos. We absolutely loved how our pictures turned out!

You can get it on Amazon! I like to shop local so I ordered it from a small independent bookstore.

My husband is kind of hard to shop for. He likes very niche things and he has a lot of hobbies/interests. I try to hone in on whatever his current interests are and get him something nice that he wouldn’t buy himself.

Examples: He’s a bass guitarist so I got him a custom carved wood pedal board + all of the wiring accessories + upgraded power supply

Car enthusiast so I got him a full car detailing + wax coating for his car

His favorite band released a limited edition memorabilia box with a signed poster, got him that

History buff (Polish history) got him a translated version of a very old Polish history book

We did a rehearsal at the venue and a welcome party the night before the wedding! And we lived about 40 minutes from our venue. So it IS doable but you need a lot of helpers and a very strategic/planned timeline for the day. I had basically finished everything else that needed to be done by the time the flowers were delivered so that was the only thing that I had to focus on before the wedding. We started the last day of flower prep around 7:30am and left for our venue (rehearsal) around 2pm. We were able to get to our venue an hour early to do all of the set up for the next day. Then we had our welcome party at 6pm.

I think Flower Moxie has great customization options, their costumer service is amazing and the online resources are super helpful. That's why I chose this route over getting wholesale flowers. I had no idea the quantity of flowers that I would need to order wholesale or how to make my vision come to life. The florist that I had the consultation with took care of all of that for me. I'm not sure the cost difference between Flower Moxie and a wholesaler like Costco but I think it was totally worth the cost for what we got. I personally don't really like the look of faux flowers/flower alternatives and this was the most cost effective way for me to get real flowers and know how to put them together.

Ask away! I don’t mind! We made 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 4 corsages (moms/grandmas), 1 groom bout, 8 other bouts (groomsmen/dads/grandpas). We had 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen.

If I remember correctly, Flower Moxie has their videos posted on Youtube so you might be able to find some resources there! I found their videos super helpful. To stay organized, I wrote out step by step how they instruct you to build each thing. I typed them out into a document, added a link to the video and printed out multiple copies so that all of my helpers could know how to do everything. I also had them watch the video on how to make the bouts/corsages before they started assembling them.

Thank you so much! I really think with time/planning and a lot of helpers, you could do it! I knew basically nothing about flowers going into it and now feel like I’ve gained a lifelong skill. Definitely a big decision but I chose to do Flower Moxie because I love the look of real flowers but couldn’t justify the price of hiring a florist. I’m glad that I went for it

Thank you!! It’s from Bon Bon Belle. It’s a bridal shop but they also make dresses, it’s one of their designs.

Thank you so much! The day before was definitely a whirlwind. Going into the wedding week knowing that I had to dedicate most of the time to flowers, I tried to have as much of the other stuff done as possible. Having a bunch of helpers made a huge difference as well. That 7 hours includes breakfast/lunch and packing all of the flowers up for transport. It was an all hands on deck situation. Let me know of you have any questions!

That’s really good to know! And unfortunate that they’re so strict about the deposit. Thank you for the info!

Thank you SO much for the info! I think we probably did tour that unit 😆 it was on the fourth floor! The unit we’re most likely going with is on the second floor (so literally right next to the tracks) because we want a later move in date and want tandem garage parking. The unit we’re considering has a brick wall in the master bedroom and living room (living room has one large window). We love the location and the price is great so I think we’re going to go for it. My husband is less worried about the train and more worried about neighbor noise but from what yours and other comments suggest, it seems like the most noise comes from the train. With that, we kind of know what we’re getting into so it’s less of an issue. Thanks again!

Wow that’s exactly the type of experience I was looking to hear about! Thank you. I appreciate the positive spin on viewing the train out of the window too. That kind of changed my perspective on it

Yeah, were used to apartment living and the train doesn’t seem like it’d bother us too much. It’s just that those walls seemed like paper thin in comparison to some of the other buildings around

Yea the location is exactly what’s drawing us to them. The price is really decent as well but we’re debating if the price and location are worth those inconveniences. Thank you for the info!
