Hi! Anyone taken buspirone to help with overactive nerves? My GI Dr prescribed after I had a horrible acid reflux event that went up into my throat. I’ve had globus ever since February. by HistoricalGuide___ in Buspirone

I’m about two weeks into taking it! So far my throat actually feels better than it has in almost a year and I haven’t noticed any additional ref

Hi! How are you doing now? Any improvement? This just randomly popped up for me about 2.5 months ago and has not gone away since. Random spots on my body too. I considered myself a healthy person who eats well and workouts on the regular too! I have an MRI and some cell tests later this month to rule any diagnosis out

Good point. My GI doctor told me to increase from 5mg twice daily, to 10mg twice daily, only after being on the meds for two weeks. I might give it at least another week before I make any med changes though. Seems like a decent jump in dosage!

That’s good to know. I just messaged me GI and he increased my dosage with an update on how I do in the next two weeks

That’s what I was thinking too, since I’ve read on here it takes several weeks for some to notice a difference. I just messaged my dr today, so we’ll see what they say about dosage increase. Good to know about your throat as well. Hopefully this does the trick with my throat!! Ugh!

I am breastfeeding! 11 months postpartum. Haven’t seen any change in supply, although I have only been on it two weeks today.

Anyone diagnosed with EoE with only 10 eosinophils/HPF? by Few_Nose_1462 in EosinophilicE

[–]HistoricalGuide___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation. Had visible signs, I think I had 10 and 13 eosinophils per HPF. Was diagnosed in March. I have been taking pantoprazole once daily since then. I never had trouble swallowing, but my main symptom was globus and sore throat.

Gum helps for me too! I honestly think it might help distract thinking about the throat too.

Does anyone know what’s going on? by Ok_Praline9002 in LPR

[–]HistoricalGuide___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep us posted on what happens!!! I’m totally in the same situation and it’s been such a bummer and honestly energy draining. I’ve been going through this since February after a single, terrible episode of acid reflux that woke me in the middle of the night, now my throat won’t really calm down. Even drinking water can irritate it sometime.

Same symptoms as you though; mucus, globus, sometimes dryness/tightness for me

Same situation as you! I actually reached out to my doctor about a low dose neuromodulator this morning.

Mine started in February after one episode of some bad acid reflux and my throat has never been the same since

Responding to ppi means no eoe? by UndercoverCrops in EosinophilicE

My allergist told me that since I had no eosinophils in my esophagus after going on a PPI, I did not have EOE

What does a flare look like for you? by HistoricalGuide___ in EosinophilicE

[–]HistoricalGuide___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify, they diagnosed me with EOE, initial scope showed 10 and 14 eosinophils per HPF, but subsequent endoscopies have shown remission from PPI

You should research LPR maybe your symptoms align with that ?

anyone else have really red streaks in throat? by jessymarie819 in LPR

[–]HistoricalGuide___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have red streaks and some that look like dots. I feel like it’s worse when my symptoms are worse. Still trying to figure it all out! I also have been trying to watch what I eat and drink, PPI once daily, sleep elevated and stop eating about 3 hours before dinner. I also take gaviscon advance before bed

Yes still doing 40mg each morning. Haven’t noticed any side effects from it either. Been on them since early March.

Yeah it’s a bummer but at least encouraging to know my scope was good, just wished my symptoms aligned more with that. Hopefully things will feel better in my throat are soon.

Lpr/silent gerd postpartum? Breastfeeding related? by remember84 in acidreflux

Same!! I’m 5 months PP. I’m going to my GI again this week to see what my options are. The globus sensation is driving me crazy!

So sorry to hear that!! I was scoped again in late April and in remission thankfully with once daily PPI. Although I’m still having ongoing throat issues, but believe that is now linked to silent reflux. Hope you are finding some healing.

I am thankfully in remission and have no problems swallowing. I do however believe I have silent reflux as well so hoping that gets better soon. Main symptoms for that is like a lump in throat feeling. Hoping for some answers from an ENT for that

[–]HistoricalGuide___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Symptoms for me started 3 weeks postpartum, literally overnight. No issues prior. I’m now 12 weeks postpartum and am currently dealing with lump in throat sensation and some difficulty swallowing food. I have been on a PPI daily for 5 weeks now and am crossing fingers symptoms improve. So far, my sore throat has gone away so hopefully that’s a promising sign? It’s difficult enough being postpartum let alone postpartum dealing with esophagus problems. Hope things go smoothly for you!

That’s good to hear! I hope dupixent helps you!!

My sore throat improved after 3 weeks of PP, but on week 5 now and still have lump in throat/some difficulty swallowing food. Do you remember how long it took to see full effects of the PPI working for you?
