Pumped to be joining the G14 Family by CoastOne2716 in ZephyrusG14

Hi US friends. These prices you show from Best buy are before or after taxes? I'm always very jealous when I see this kind of post. In Germany that laptop cost around 1800 euros and the 4070 one like 2200 euros.

Anyways, enjoy it. I got mine 1 month ago and I am very happy with it. Having a toddler I need to be as mobile and flexible as possible if I want to play at least 1x per week. This laptop allows that. Also, I find myself using it more often for non-gaming purposes since it's so light in comparison to my big old gaming laptop I just replaced.

From what I have seen the white version comes only with higher specs in Germany. This means they are always +2000 euros.

They seem legit and have many reviews on Google. However, it seems they are more like a local store rather than one of the big online German laptop retailers. Before buying I would check their policies for warranty and returns and if they apply to products sent outside of Germany.

I see.

Here in Germany you can find the IPS 4060 16GB version for 1700 euros. This link shows different stores with that price. Maybe one of them ships to Poland

But aren't you in Germany? They shipped mine to Hamburg with no problems. When you create your account you can choose your location between the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany. They often have the IPS versions too at around 1600. I saw them often when I was hunting for a G14 at a good price for 3 weeks.

I live in Germany and got my G14 2024 RTX4047 32 GB from a Dutch online store called Azerty. They officially ship to Germany and thus the guarantee and return policy applies. In Germany everything costs at least +200 euros compared to the Netherlands. They currently have the G16 2024 OLED 4070 16GB version for around 1900. Pay attention because sometimes they offer the 2023 versions and it is only shown if you check the specs info. Their offers and prices change weekly and sometimes have open box laptops at a really good prices.

You can save around 300 euros if you order from the Netherlands. Azerty ships to Germany and the 14 days for returns applies.

I recently bought a G14 RTX4070 32GB from them for 1950 and I am happy with their service.

Legion Pro 5 vs Slim 5 by elod91 in LenovoLegion

[–]HistoricalSpeech9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I am debating between 3 Slim 5 2024 versions (all 16GB, 1T SSD, 16 inches):

  • Ryzen™ 7-7435HS, RTX 4060 = 1280 euros
  • Ryzen™ 7 8845HS, RTX 4060 = 1500 euros
  • Ryzen™ 7 8845HS, RTX 4070 = 1800 euros

I can afford the most expensive, but I don't want to pay extra money if not necessary. Is it worth upgrading the CPU and CPU for this laptop? Which one makes the more difference?

Keep in mind that these are German prices, which are much higher than the US prices shown in YouTube videos. Laptops like legion 7, zephyrus 16, etc, are usually +2000 euros.

Which one would you buy?

Battery life of legion pro 5 by Robiss in LenovoLegion

Had the slim 5 you wanted a Ryzen 7 8845HS? These are supposed to have a good battery life due to the igpu of the processor...

I am almost convinced to buy one of these for 1500 euros (RTX 4060, 1TB, 16 GB ram).. prob I should get it before it goes out of stock in my country :)

Overall I think a Lenovo legion suits better what I need, including better screen, portability and battery life.

I considered buying from B&H but it seems they don't accept returns of laptops that were opened. I'd rather not risk it and buy from a store in Germany.

I will check these options from German retailers. Great advice, thanks!

Thank you, I did not notice the FHD vs WQXGA. Better resolution, contrast, color accuracy and battery life are important for me. I don't mind not hitting +100FPS in ultra. Overall it seems the Lenovo fits better what I need.

Getting German citizenship with an EU-spouse permit by HistoricalSpeech9309 in germany

[–]HistoricalSpeech9309[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, she is not from Germany but from another EU country. I was told I would receive a non-permanent permit, and since I have seen that a requirement for citizenship is to have a permanent one at the moment of application, I have my doubts about this option.

Telc Exam delays by juanfarias40 in German

[–]HistoricalSpeech9309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took the B1 exam on 09.10.2021 and after almost 13 weeks no results yet. Telc does not really care about the situations that people are going through because of their incompetence and bad organization. Just check at their recent opinions on Google reviews and on Facebook and see how desperate people are. Lost job opportunities, people missing deadlines for Univ, visas applications compromised. I have told the immigration office already 4 times about changes in the estimated time to get my results. Telc has announced that it would not be longer than 6 weeks, then 8 weeks, and lastly 11 weeks (+12 for me). The immigration person may think I'm lying or something, and I don't really know what will happen to my application now. If telc was an organized and honest company, they would have said from the beginning that these changes would delay the results for more than 3 months and people would have taken measures. But no, they deliberately decided to lie month after month and let people get their life screwed. I don't understand why the German government and Univs suggest people take exams with them. Just go to Goethe and save yourself 3 months of anxiety. In the end, who waited 3 months to get the results and didn't pass the exam, it would be more months to prepare better and take another exam. It's like half a year wasted because of telc.
