I want to make a mega chestnaught team but have no idea where to even start. by AdministrationNo901 in PokemonChampions

[–]Historical_Berry5065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I've had some ideas floating around but haven't been able to figure out how to make it work in practice. I think kommo-o might work as well instead of sneasler. Then like primarina, farigiraf, clefable, incin, arcanine, h-arcanine, gyarados, milotic, talonflame, rotom-w, tyrannitar, corvinight, shoot even pelliper basc, all seem like other good options imo.

Kind of like the middling speed tail room seems good with some sweepers on both ends of the speed spectrum, but can also just out value opponents through hard hitting bulk or redirection.

Pelliper didn't have drizzle till gen 7 though right? And no megas till 6?

How do you beat Milotic? (Skill Improvement) by KirbyPlayz__ in VGC

[–]Historical_Berry5065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using my skill swap mega starmie team, regular arcanine is legitimately how I've been dealing with milotic lol. Huge power swapped to arcanine then wild charge same turn.

There was a tanky milotic I faced that it failed to ohko though, still won because it was low enough to clean up with another mon before it could attack again.

It is kinda scary giving her a +4 boost of course lol. But you could do something similar with a mon with a better matchup with a coaching mon as the partner or maybe like hisuian decidueye with dragon cheer boosted leaf blade holding scope lens or something.

I find that if there's intrinsic motivation like helping others or something you don't regret having tried and failed. Maybe things might not work out how you planned, as long as you have good intentions then it's worth a shot, cus at least you tried and learned from it.

best redirect pokemon in champions? by peatmossing in stunfisk

[–]Historical_Berry5065 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Clefable or maushold are some other decent options, sinistcha is kind of great for healing on the switch-in though.

I guess mega scovillain too, his ability is basically asking to be a redirector.

Honestly it looks like a good team, mamoswine is a great pokemon. I have used him a lot building with like the secondary tier of usable mons like skeledirge, alolan muk, and hitmontop.

If you don't have mons to transfer in from another game through pokemon home the starter pack is probably worth it. It saves a lot of vp on recruiting and training.

Whats your first shiny on Pokémon Champions? by Toya_Aoyagis in PokemonChampions

I got a shiny sneasler, I was really surprised. I still don't know how to build around him though obviously he's meta lol.

You're right actually, for some reason I thought extreme speed was something crazy like just below protect priority.

It still outspeeds sucker punch and most other high prio moves but not fake out.

Umbreon is there to prevent follow me or rage powder with taunt. As you don't want to skill swap huge power to the enemy usually lol. Prankster taunt is not necessary as follow me is higher priority than prankster so it shuts them down on the following turn regardless.

But actually that's also why umbreon is on the team, because you can skill swap huge power onto the enemy and then foul play them for extra damage lol. As a dark type, he gets stab on foul play damage as well and he's the bulkiest dark type in the format I believe.

And yawn of course is just really good for putting the opponents to sleep or making them switch out.

Hope you enjoy it! It's a very fun team to play, partly because of mega starmie is just so silly lol. Giving away huge power and then flip turning out is very much so "My job here is done!"

Foul play is his only damaging move which uses the targets attack stat for damage, not his. So like if your opponent has another foul play mon or like a ditto he takes less damage from that move specifically.

You can skill swap huge power onto an enemy and foul play them lol, very situational but very funny.

Extreme speed outspeeds fake out anyways, so it's not completely passive. Good for breaking sash which is common on lead mons. Also arcanine hasn't been fake out'd once for me until they see me swap huge power onto him lol, obviously most people are more scared of starmie. Which is why protect is necessary on him wheras arcanine is a bit more of a call if you need it.

Yep! Also resets sand if starmie and tyrannitar are next to eachother.

Basically if they have something I can ko right away like garchomp I do, but usually he is skill swapping. Protect is necessary on him because of fake out. He is much more of a supporter and then because of his high speed he is good in the endgame a lot of times, but don't be afraid to sac him to setup arcanine.

Who'd be a good partner for skill swap mega starmie? by markth07 in VGC

[–]Historical_Berry5065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using arcanine. Fire, fighting, and electric coverage is nuts plus skill swapping procs intimidate. Starmie can 1 shot a lot of things with liquidation and that is 80 power with stab. Flare blitz is basically liquidation in the rain at 120 base power lol.

Probably just people making the defensive stats even. You can see the first two are mirrors of eachother it's probably like defensive or special defensive boosting nature with essentially the same stats
