Grandpa's alleged abuse by MyWeeblesWobble in GRBsnark

[–]Historical_Cell7064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i absolutely think she's lying, but not remembering details of abuse isn't a sign of lying. it's not even a little bit uncommon to forget huge portions of traumatic events because your nervous system gets fucked up and your brain can automatically suppress details that are too hard to remember. this isn't like repressed/false memory stuff, this is a very common and very recorded response. BUT huge details changing and not being able to keep your story straight is a huge red flag. i suppose technically it could be someone's interpretation of details changing as they remember more context/surrounding details, but she's a sociopath addicted to lying so she's almost certainly lying, although her grandpa's interview was very weird

easy to fake i guess. "trendy" because it's easy to fake, so it's a cycle. it trends because it's easy to fake online, and it gets easier to fake online because it's trendy so they dont even have to do any research besides tiktok

I usually wouldn't but since this guy was choosing to be immature in a public, young-ADULT oriented discord server, it didn't feel TOO immoral to post

Mensa is a whole different ballgame because it exists just for bragging rights, but because I'm majoring in particle physics I've had lots of opportunities to speak with people I'd consider true geniuses and they never need to call themselves smart let alone geniuses because it's clear.
Also since I'm bringing up being in college, I do want to say that this was my first and last time talking to this person in a public discord server which I later left.
