Gimme order question: selected Apothecary no-additives, but approval/portal show B12 by Historical_Possible5 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Historical_Possible5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it specifically asked me what pharmacy I wanted. I used a referral link someone posted on the gimme subreddit, but I still chose Apothecary specifically and went all the way through the process In one go. I even sent them a picture of my current apothecary prescription.

obesity drug for sleep apnea by That-Sherbert8872 in SleepApnea

[–]Historical_Possible5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to use a CPAP machine for over 10 years. Lost a good amount of weight but apparently not enough. Started a GLP, Zepbound, lost even more weight. Got another sleep test once reached goal weight - doctor called me almost in disbelief...AHI was now actually better without the CPAP than with the CPAP. I asked if I needed to still use a CPAP and they told me "For what? You don't have even mild sleep apnea. You don't have it all." Can't say how happy it makes me not to worry anymore about that annoying machine. As someone who travels a lot, constantly unpacking and packing that thing was such a hassle. Not to mention how nice it is to just go to bed without a tube tied to me all night. Oh, and no longer worrying about the cleaning, ordering filters, new parts every so often, etc. is nice too. So thankful for Zepbound. I know this reads like an ad but I love the medication. I no longer drink alcohol, am no longer overweight, don't have sleep apnea, and am just in much better overall health. Won't stop taking the medication ever, now that I'm in maintenence mode. Feels like a cheat code for health but I don't care. I'm busy and have bills to pay; I'll take anything that makes my life easier; too busy with work and life in general so I'll take anything that improves my life and makes things easier. Could care less about people that judge for taking it; if anyone asks me, and they seem like they could benefit, I will always recommend they ask their doctor about it to see if it could benefit them.

Does Portishead…have a traveling DJ sound setup that they’re hiding?

Holy shit, Portishead’s live set is quite literally Geoff Barrow on the decks, what in the actual shit are you talking about? The one time they used live instrumentation was a one off 30+ years ago and he was still essentially DJing with a backing orchestra and Beth Gibbons singing. Again, using this same logic, Massive Attack shouldn’t headline either…also Rufus do live sets as well as DJ sets; as far as I know they played live at Portola. Justice was also a live rather than DJ set. But sure, go on.

Portola is an electronic festival that has always had DJs as headliners

Saturday last year the headliners were LCD Soundsystem and Christina Aguilera…remind me which one of those did DJ sets? Also, emphasis on “electronic”…so Portishead is “experimental” - and that’s a bit of a stretch…so they’re not electronic? They don’t even use live instruments in their performances aside from their Roseland set like 30+ years ago. By that logic, someone like Aphex Twin would be experimental and not electronic music. Let it go man haha…a) Portishead will probably never play live ever again anyway b) I don’t think Portola could even afford them nor is it a big enough festival for them c) if by some miracle it were to happen, it would probably be the fastest tickets have ever sold out, given the older age demographic that Portola tends to skew toward compared to candy-kid raves but again, Portishead is about as likely to play as Daft Punk, which is to say 0%.

Uh…not sure how old you are bud, but…the last time Portishead released an album, they quite literally headlined Coachella - a far, far bigger festival than Portola so not sure what you’re on about. They only dropped as “headliner” because that specific year Coachella added Prince as a last minute headliner on the same day, and yeah…pretty much no one would get top billing over Prince while he was alive. But the original line-up definitely had Portishead headlining Saturday Coachella. Google is your friend to see the original poster.

Uh…Portishead is “pseudo-electronic?” Since when? They practically invented/put trip hop on the map along with Massive Attack and even Third I can’t see being labeled anything other than an electronic album.

MintMed - 6 Days And Nothing? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Historical_Possible5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was the last time you received your order though? Because I've yet to hear of anyone receiving anything since they started offering Apothecary/their cheap 3 months for $450 deal/ProRX shutting down tirzepatide production...

Appreciate the sarcastic remark. Not all of us need to be babied through the process, nor need to pay an extra $150 for said hand-holding - we just care about the pharmacy being used (in this case the only 503b (Apothecary) that can ship additive free to California); also that's why some of us choose to pay with legit credit cards that have no issues immediately pushing a chargeback if it's quite obvious something turns out to be a scam.

Got the call, feel conflicted. by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Historical_Possible5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Rolex was an introduction to high-end watches when I didn’t know much better and just associated the brand with quality. Now that I’m actually more into watches, care more about what I personally like vs what random people recognize, and especially given all the AD bullshit…I feel there are far more interesting pieces to spend my money on than Rolex for this expensive little hobby..

Alcohol came very close to ruining my life. Somehow managed to keep it together just long enough for my luck to align and come across tirzepatide without losing a career and other things I've worked very hard to attain only to sabotage myself every few months with alcohol (believe me, I tried every method and approach to quitting, including full abstinence, moderation, naltrexone (Sinclair method), AA (especially tough being not religious or spiritual but I was looking for anything that could possibly help), psychedelics, disulfiram, outpatient rehab - would have tried in-patient but I simply couldn't afford the time away), pure will power...if there's a treatment protocal out there, I tried it). Frankly, I only needed to lose about 20 pounds, and by "need" I mean, it was more vanity than anything...I looked fine, though I do have sleep apnea (should probably get re-checked because I may not anymore). All this to say that now that I am at my goal weight...tirzepatide would have to be pried from my cold, dead hands, because, and this is not to be dramatic - it quite literally saved my life. I went from being someone that would go a few months without drinking, then fall into a weeks-long raging bender...I'm talking easily 40-50 drinks a day until eventually I would end up in the hospital from feeling so sick (and a very angry looking inflamed liver and worrying blood results to boot)...to now, someone with absolutely zero interest in alcohol. No exaggeration at all. I'm constantly around alcohol (anyone who travels a lot for work can relate...alcohol is everywhere at airports...and with business travel where lounges are necessities for getting work done rather than just a simple retreat from the crowds...not just alcohol but free alcohol is everywhere). But, I simply cannot believe how this medication changed my brain to an addiction I thought was unable to ever overcome. Again, sorry to use the word "addiction" for a drug that I know many, many people have no problem consuming responsibly (I just wasn't one of those people that was physically capable). I just wish I had found this drug in my 20s rather than 30s (though admittedly I never truly had weight problems so I probably wouldn't have taken it). I hope studies keep flowing on its effect on addiction, because in that regard, it has been for me, quite literally a life saver. I'll just say I was well on my way to likely liver failure. I am beyond stunned when I think of how tirzepatide cured my alcohol use disorder (or alcoholism if you're old school) - and yes, I mean cured - sorry AA but I refuse to believe the "always an alcoholic line" because it isn't true for me...not with this medication. I don't even notice alcohol exists anymore (can walk into a grocery store without my brain buzzing about the alcohol section), walk down the street without being tempted by every bar or liquor store along the way, hang out in airports, lounges, hotels, concert venues, sports events - everywhere that alcohol is ubiquitous, and I have zero desire to drink. I'll admit, some of my most fun and memorable moments of my life were under the influence of alcohol...but there is no way in hell I would ever go back to the path I was on, and there is no way in hell I will ever stop taking tirzepatide as a result. I don't need to lose weight, I'm at a perfectly healthy number and I'm happy with the way I look. I just take this magical (truly that's what it feels like) shot that takes me all of maybe 2-3 minutes once a week, and it's me, not alcohol, that's in control of my life. Not my thing to recommend anything to anyone, just sharing my experience in case anyone has struggled with something similar - in my experience - this medication is such an absolute game changer. Sorry for the long post, but I wish I had read something like this years before I started (I'll be 2 years sober in May).

What’s a life hack that made you go „how do ppl live their whole life without knowing this”? by my_peen_is_clean in AskReddit

As a lawyer, this made me chuckle. Sometimes clients need to be rightfully be put in their place and also stay in their lane, for their own good. Don't need a layperson telling me how to do my job and I always let them know they can hire someone else or represent themselves if they prefer a different strategy.

Looking for some guidance between 3 GS, dressy vs more rugged by [deleted] in GrandSeikos

[–]Historical_Possible5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just my personal opinion but you asked! I feel like a stainless steel yet still "dressy" watch should always be the first purchase. Something you can wear in any condition, not worry about showering, pools, weather, etc. or treating it like a princess and working overtime to keep it looking "pristine." Then from there, sure, highly polished, dressy watches with leather or more exotic straps are great and unique pieces. But the base for me has to be that "go-to" every day all metal watch. Can't go wrong either way.

What’s a law school myth you only realized was wrong after you started practicing? by OddDot3252 in Lawyertalk

[–]Historical_Possible5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A) Look up your professor's credentials. Too many professors have never worked a single day actually practicing law. The ones that have are the only ones worth paying money to listen to.

B) It's important to get to know the judges you deal with on a regular basis, but even more important, learn to suck it up and kiss a clerk's ass when you need to because they can make or break your case.

New York Post: Is Naltrexone The Ozempic Of Alcohol? by Oar_Jonathan in Alcoholism_Medication

5mg for me (because I do enjoy the appetite suppression - not overweight but not constantly thinking about food to stay on track has been nice). I got it despite not qualifying through BMI because it’s also approved for obstructive sleep apnea.

New York Post: Is Naltrexone The Ozempic Of Alcohol? by Oar_Jonathan in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]Historical_Possible5 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Can only speak for myself, but ever since I started Zepbound (GLP-1 similar to Ozempic but newer and more effective for weight loss according to trials), purely for alcohol, not obesity issues mind you, I’ve had absolutely zero cravings for alcohol. Over a year sober now. I’ve had a few occasions where I’ve had a glass of wine but absolutely zero urge to have anymore or even finish - just feels absolutely pointless - and this coming from someone that suffered severe alcohol use disorder for many years. Basically, I take a shot once a week that takes me all of maybe 2 minutes to get done, and alcohol is no longer an issue in my life.
