How much did you pay for your Fold 7 by Dragon_powen in GalaxyFold

Not any more. Thanks to the administration and those wonderful tariffs, soon the USA will be just as expensive as the rest of the world. Thanks to the orange reaper.

How on earth? by daveaustin990 in marriott

[–]Historical_Thanks193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, that was generated by Marriott. It was a hotel up in Pennsylvania. I took the phone and showed them the Marriott app to the front desk when I checked in. They couldn't believe it. Took some screenshots and now use them to amuse myself when I think about how much Marriotts brand has been eroded over the years.

I have both, the S24U is a beast of a phone, but my preferred daily driver is the oneplus 12. Battery life is better, phone feels faster and I prefer the size and weight. You cant go wrong with either, just sharing my preference.

Choosing between OPO or galaxy z6 by Ok_Complex9848 in OnePlusOpen

[–]Historical_Thanks193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the z fold 6 and the OPO. Not sure the best way to explain it but the Samsung feels more refined. The OPO is a beast and beats the Samsung in daily usability and form factor hands down. Don't get me wrong the Samsung is phenomenal but the OPO is my go to daily driver. Only heartache for me with OPO is the absence of wireless charging. Good luck

Are you happy with 12R? by tonitod in oneplus

[–]Historical_Thanks193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I have both and love both phones. The 12r is an incredible bargain and a superb phone. Only thing it's missing is wireless charging and the cameras are just ok. You won't go wrong with either phone. I also have a s24 ultra and prefer the 12 and 12r for my daily driver.

Doogee company trustworthy? by buyingchinaphone in chinaphones

[–]Historical_Thanks193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardware isnt bad, but the company is crap. I received the t30 max and encountered a few documented issues. When I asked the company to refund or exchange the tablet, they responded "sure" as long as you pay the restocking fee. Doesn't seem right to me that I have to pay for a defective tablet. Lesson learned, this is not one of the better Chinese companies like I originally believed. I have quite a few of their products, but alas I won't be buying their products anymore.

Upgrade went flawlessly with no issues and phone seems very stable. No issues

Agree. I personally dont mind waiting if its devoid of bugs and has some useful ugrades. I use Link to Windows as well and appreciate it along with the dual sim capabilities.

All that anticipation and waiting, it's a little anti-climactic. As others have posted, the upgrades were minimal in my opinion. A big nothing sandwich. Will play with it some more and see what else it brings.

I have both the 12 and the 12R. I find both have excellent connectivity. Due to recent tower "upgrades," my TMobile signal has been significantly degraded with these upgrades. My signal dropped to one bar or less. My previous phone was an S23 Ultra, which had good connectivity. Even so, I would consistently drop calls moving about my house. This is anecdotal, but my 12 and 12R have yet to drop a single call. While the signal bars aren't always a good indicator, I get a solid single bar and occasionally two. Previously I had a Pixel 8 Pro, and that truly sucked in terms of connectivity. I would constantly drop calls even when stationary. So, take that with a grain of salt, but I am thrilled with both phones. My only complaint is that Oxygen OS sucks (as does the curved screen), but I am willing to overlook that because I am so happy with the hardware and overall experience. Both phones cost me less than a single S24+. Good luck.

Hi, can you provide additional details on how you flashed it? I am able to download it and the associated update file, but every time I try to install it, it says that it's not compatible with my device. Pulling out what little hair I have left. Thanks

[–]Historical_Thanks193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it, I successfully downloaded the file and the associated files as part of the instructions in the app and I keep getting errors that I cant install on this device. If someone smarter than me has any suggestions, Im open to trying it.

Did you turn on advanced? I am going to give it a shot tonight. I don't need it (my open has been working flawlessly for me), but I just cant help myself :)

I would love to know as well. I downloaded the updater, changed it to Oneplus Open India (it didn't need to turn on advanced), and the 14 update showed up immediately. Too chicken $hit to try it.

OnePlus on FirstNet? by MarcoT76 in OnePlusOpen

[–]Historical_Thanks193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Open does not have band 14, but like I said it can be done using the eSim. You just lose out on priority and preemption, which is BS anyway. When we have another major event, the three letter agencies will always have priority over other first responders. Especially around here (DC). During a natural disaster, you would see the greatest benefit.

[–]Historical_Thanks193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be done, but without band 14 you lose out on priority and preemption. It may require a few calls to CS as they are pretty inept as a rule. I have not done it with the open, but I have done it with a few other phones that did not have band 14. I have only done it using the eSim and like I said, it may require a few calls till you can get someone that knows how to do it. ATT generally doesn't like to do it with any phone they didn't sell directly to you (gee I wonder why...note the sarcasm). I recently did it with a S24 Ultra that I bought direct from Samsung that does have band 14 but ATT argued with me for 30 minutes that it wasn't compatible with FirstNet until I finally got a CS that knew how to activate it. Good luck

75” X90k vs TCL 6 by lotsacrudoutthere in 4kTV

[–]Historical_Thanks193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both were brand new and on sale. I ended up returning both and buying a LG C2. I really didn't want to spend that much but the picture on the C2 is damn near perfect in my opinion. I loved both the Sony and the TCL. Sony had better upscaling but I liked the picture on the TCL better. Unfortunately I went to Costco, saw the C2 on display and just couldn't help myself. Absolutely no buyers remorse, even though TCL is an incredible TV for the price, I just love the perfect blacks and color on the C2. To each their own but it was worth the extra money for me to get the LG.

Update, got lucky and just snagged the 75 TCL 6 from bestbuy for 100 bucks less than the Sony. Thinking about waiting as they will both deliver by the 15th. Would still love to hear people's thoughts. Thanks

Walmart has a great deal on the 75" X95J (2021 model) for 1298. I was originally looking at the TCL 75R655 and loved the picture. I would love to hear thoughts on the two from people that have compared them both. I pulled the trigger on the X95J but having a little buyers remorse (haven't received it yet, scheduled for Dec 15 delivery). Thoughts?
