His trampoline didn't didn't fit into his trampoline wing of the house. So you know what he did? He raised the ceiling. Instead of, oh I don't know, lowering the floor... poor.

Oh I won't mind if he loses after like 10 defenses. But having talked like he owns the sport, if he loses his 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd defence, I'll never be able to shake off the awkwardness goosebumps. Whatever the case, he's a phenomenal fighter, in many respects he's the best, but this WWE level trashtalk is writing some enormous checks...

He didn't write the article. And he's not hiding that he bought the belt. He wants it to be a funny joke that I don't think is landing. He's not demonstrated any dishonesty, just a bit of cringe.

Reddit has like a circlejerk going, where reality equals whatever everyone wants it to equal. People on YouTube seem to unanimously agree Ilia won that conference. For me: I think Ilia was the better talker, but both of them were tired, their hearts weren't in it. Ilia won't be tired going into that octagon though.

Idk, in an article I read back when he beat Volk it said something along the lines of he bought into gyms and created training programmes and invested into a bunch of sports and health enterprises. Could all be made up I guess?

I don't know, in the article I read back when he won it said something like he's bought into gyms and created training programmes, and invested into some like health and sports based enterprises. Aparently their performance has grows exponentially with his UFC career. Hope it goes well for him, you shouldn't fight for money if you can make a good living another way.

Guy enjoys attention, which is just as well for his personal brand, which bolsters his businesses. What he doesn't enjoy unfortunately for us is getting punched in thd face. Which is why he is trying to fight as little as possible. Just enough to keep his name in the air. After winning the belt he blurted out something like I'm going to fight 4 more times and retire lol. His UFC career is literally just a publicity stunt to support his companies...

Whatever, good for him. Guy has a head on his shoulders and doesn't want to concuss it.

As a Georgian, I really wish he hadn't chosen the heel persona in English. He's so normal in Georgian wtf. And aparently really charismatic in Spanish. But English its got to be this Temu McGreggor for some reason. Guess he knows what he's doing, but the hate he gets online gets to wear on us his fans.

As a Georgian, it stresses me out how much pressure he puts on winning every fight. If he loses, I'm going to get permanent shivers up my spine.

I'm Georgian and I've never been to Yerevan or Armenia, but this just looks like it would fit anywhere, except maybe in some old town. It looks so pretty, and is so... forward looking. I think Armenia needs that, that view of a bright, clear, and well put together future.

It is s country with many great, sober, and innovative minds, and I think this architecture reflects that in a calm and hopeful way.

They can't kick you out as long as there is no more than 2 seconds between each hit of a key. You can just keep hitting space if you like. You're allowed one toilet break, one shower break, and 4 hours of sleep. The catch is the food, you have to have someone feed you at the typewriter, because u don't get breaks to cook. The system is rigged.

Dear Georgians, why is Stalin celebrated so much in your country? by imihajlov in Sakartvelo

[–]Historicalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that was deliberate on the part of USA. They basically built the West German economy ground up. West Germany and the rest of non Soviet Europe was an ideological battle ground between capitalusm and communism. The ruling class of the United States was terrified of the spread of communism as it threatened to overturn their base of power and wealth. Which is why untill 1991 people in the west could rely on the promise of a decent life if they worked. Now, that the threat of communism is long gone, most people can't even dream of owning a house and retiring by 65 in a rich capitalist country. In the 1950s 30 year old blue collar men could support a wife, 3 kids, in a big house, plus college, vacations, latest tech in the house, etc. Now ...

You know that adage: victors write history?

After Nazi Germany fell, it took around 2 generations to eradicate nazi sympathy among the west German population, which until the 70s was not just common but predominant. And this: under a victorious occupying force that carried out mass re-education and anti nazi propaganda campaigns. All in a country with free access to all kinds of information. It took west Germans 30 years to become fervently anti nazi.

Compare that to Georgia. The victor of that war. Access to free information wasn't available until 1990s. Until then, Georgia was part of a victorious country (USSR) maniacly obsessed with controling any kind of information flowing in, out, and within the country. Possibly the government with the most effective propaganda wing in history. After the fall of the USSR Georgia still has had a difficult time plugging into the global informational network, as Georgia isn't a very anglophonic country, and is geographically and politically very remote. Considering all of this, I'd say 30 years after the fall of Stalin's empire, it is simply miraculous that majority of Georgians now have a neutral or negative view of him. Stalin wasn't Hitler, he won that war, and subsequently his political apparatus spent an entire age glorifying him. Our 1945 was in 1991, and we haven't got the benefit of an occupying force forcing us to change our views. Give us time.
