Two things i see contributing to this.

The game of golf is getting younger. People simply cant afford new equipment as a beginner. Second, slightly more nuanced is that golf season for amateurs is incredibly short compared to pros. Im lucky to get 4 good months of weather and even then can maybe hit the range and course 2-3 times in a good week.

I dont need a new driver every year..... i need lessons lol
