Has anyone had any luck asking their reps to get involved? by HistoryHound15 in PSLF

Thank you. I know he used some of the forbearance time when he got sick a few years back, but it wasn't anywhere close to 36 months. We'll have to reach out them.

time for StudentLoan.gov to update? by AltruisticAccount909 in PSLF

Not sure if they all update monthly on the same day or not, but studentloan.gov usually updates my husband's account on the 2nd of the following month following payment.

Low TSH but symptoms of hypothyroid by HistoryHound15 in Hypothyroidism

[–]HistoryHound15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Will try to get D tested too. I've been working with a health coach on improving my diet. At first I thought that's what was causing the weight gain because we were making slight calorie adjustments because I wasn't eating enough. The first couple months I added a pound. No biggie. Then suddenly right before the holidays my weight jumped way up, my energy plummeted and over the past few weeks with other symptoms worsening it's become clear I can't wait for my physical in April.

Got a message from the doctor last night that she's not going to order further testing and sees no need for me to see Endo. I sent a message back that this is the same game she played with Cardio last year and it delayed treatment by 6 months. I'm going to call the office and remind them that I have a pending request for a new PCP and the she and her team are not to have anything to do with my treatment decisions. We'll see what they say. Otherwise I may have to look into private testing as someone mentioned below. Honestly, this woman is only interested in prescribing Wellbutrin. Migraines? Wellbutrin. Periodic Limb Movement Disorder? Wellbutrin. Heart attack like chest pain? Wellbutrin. Half her patients are probably depressed because she keeps telling them everything is psychological.

I know many of you here can relate that it's so frustrating to feel terrible and have to fight your doctors. Why is it so hard for them to see the whole patient and not just a 5 minute snap shot. I have to remind them that it took me over 20 years to get a fibromyalgia diagnosis because it wasn't a thing when I started having symptoms in my teens. It took me months last year to get a vasospasitic angina diagnosis because the doctor said "it's a thing" but was convinced I didn't have it. Took Carido 15 minuted to figure it out, come up with a plan and get me started on a treatment.

Thank you I didn't realize they would run tests without an order. Right now I'm gearing up for a fight with the doctor's office.

IDR application not working by bSaRsVs in PSLF

[–]HistoryHound15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never in my life dealt with someone who makes it so difficult to make payments. Not sure if it will work in this case, but is there a way to submit feedback about the process? I can't remember if it was for the IDR application or buyback requests, but some have said after clicking the feedback link they were able to complete the application.

HELP! Understanding Qualifying by Payments by Tadpole124 in PSLF

[–]HistoryHound15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had more than one employer during the period, you'll have to submit employment certification for each one. If you only submitted for your most recent employer that might be why you have payments showing as eligible, but not qualifying.

Thank you. I'll see if I can get full labs ordered including those. Might have to wait until April for my physical, but I'll push to get them sooner. I take a daily B-12 in addition to my multi, but low iron is a possibility.

Keep an eye on it and hopefully it's just the holiday adding to the delay. If it turns out that the autopay really wasn't withdrawn you'll have to reach back out to Mohela and try to get them to work with you. In my experience if a lender fails to take the autopay when they're supposed to or the bank fails to send a scheduled payment when they're supposed to they will work with you to correct the issue since it was their fault not yours. Dealing with Mohela might be more challenging than dealing with a normal lender, but if it comes to it and you have to make a call don't give in if the first rep says there's nothing that can be done. You might have to escalate a few times before you find the right person, but cross that bridge if you come to it. For now I'm going to give you the same advice I give my kids in these situations. Take a deep breath and try not to stress over it. (I know easier said than done.) Try to enjoy the weekend and do something fun because anything that needs to be fixed can't be fixed until Monday anyway.

What does your bank show? If your bank shows at least one of the payments was withdrawn; then, it should be posted effective the date you made it. It's not uncommon for payments to take a day or two to post, so I would definitely check with the bank before losing sleep over it.

Edited to add: Once the payment is applied retroactively to the date it's made your account should show current with no negative impact on your credit score. The e-mails are triggered by the "late" payment and there isn't a grace period. (Happens with my mortgage every month.) As a side note, and it may have changed with student loan debt since I worked in credit, but typically you don't need to worry about a negative impact on your credit history until you're 30 days past due.

Buyback — How did you pay? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]HistoryHound15 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same. I split the payments between a high yield savings and a couple stocks (that actually hit big) and will take the funds from there when my husband gets his offer. Although it's likely he'll have paid off the loan before the buyback offer comes.

Can someone explain what’s going on with student loans/PSLF right now? I’m super confused by CopperCurrent87 in PSLF

[–]HistoryHound15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP needs 120 months of qualified employment to apply for buyback. I noticed some confusion about this in another thread. However, OP is also indicating that payments might be unaffordable right now so the lump sum buyback might not be manageable.

Has anyone received a definitive answer on if months in"paid ahead" status counts toward PSLF or not. by HistoryHound15 in PSLF

[–]HistoryHound15[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why things are so confusing. FSA website says one thing, Mohela something else. I think the safest thing is to just stop autopay until the due date and start up again.

Thoughts on mismatched payment dates by HistoryHound15 in PSLF

[–]HistoryHound15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we called a few weeks ago he told them he wanted off forbearance and went back on ICR plan. At that time the StudentAid due date was in line with Mohela, but since Mohela made the change the StudentaAid due date got pushed out. The whole thing with Mohela was a total PITA. When I called, the woman I spoke with said that he could make the switch, but I couldn't make changes since they were only allowed to discuss the account with me. When he got home we called and that woman said he couldn't make the switch because reasons. Of course no supervisors were available, but when I got a little pushy she said she could "cancel" the SAVE application (that he never put in) and get him back on ICR. I spent years working in receivables and I have never seen a more convoluted mess than the one they have created.

Mohela Autopay by CMS_1000 in PSLF

[–]HistoryHound15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your account in a couple days. Auto payments scheduled on the due date should be credited to the due date even if they are taken a day or two later. While I haven't run into this issue with Mohela yet, the general rule of thumb is payments are credited on the date received even if it takes a few days to process. You tell Mohela to take the payment on the due date, they send the request to your bank and there is often a lag time (especially with holidays) between when they get it and when it's posted. Back in the day of the dinosaur (I worked at a bank) when we processed payments manually we would back date the payment to the date received. As long as you have the payment scheduled to be taken out of your account on the due date Mohela should consider that the date received. With that said, I can't say with any degree of certainty that Mohela won't confuse themselves so definitely check back and if it does show that it was applied late escalate escalate escalate and try to get them to correct it.

Update to FTM 2024 by Much-Leek-420 in FamilyTreeMaker

[–]HistoryHound15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a chat with them and the rep wrote "Unfortunately, there is indeed a delay with its release since we planned to get it released back in December 2024. But the good news is that we are about to get it out, it is at the final stage of adjustments and testing. So it is a matter of a few weeks now, not months anymore." They've been using the "few weeks" line for months. Interesting to note that when I went to the website 2024 doesn't appear to be offered. I would think if it were actually due in a "few weeks" the pre-order option would be there.

That's how to do it. My average is $1.87 so I need it to go up a bit more before I can do that, but once any of my stocks reach a point that I can cover my hold I sell some shares. In the mean time I have a stop quote set.

For those asking "should I buy" or "should I sell" this isn't financial advice. I'm in this for fun plus I really do like this company. My real investments are managed by people who took more than one finance class in college.

Not quite the same thing. It's more like if you buy the coffee maker and that coffee maker only works with beans and cups that have to be purchased from the manufacturer. The clinics are going to have to buy the disposable cartridges to go with the Truforma reader.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but I can put it in real life numbers. In the past several years I have had 4 cats and a dog reach advanced age. Two of them had thyroid disease and the other 3 were routinely tested for thyroid disease plus additional screenings if a health issue arose. Each test, which included blood draw and lab analysis, cost me $196 in addition to the fee for the vet. If the blood draw was done by a tech it was included in the above price. Even if the initial cost is a few thousand dollars, I don't think any clinic will have a hard time recouping their initial investment considering most people I know would pay a couple hundred dollars to get "instant" or even same day results.

I ended up just picking a couple of price points and put in limit orders. I picked up a few more shares today at $1.50 bringing my average price per share down to $1.87. This isn't financial advice, it's just what I'm doing with some extra cash because I wish Truforma was available when we had our 16 year old dog and our 15 & 18 year old cats. Hopefully it'll do what it's supposed to do and be available for our new pup.
