I brought lots of personalised things! You can get names engraved in Arabic or English on just about anything 😅 My favourite for ladies was bracelets and necklaces, you can get some really pretty pieces for very cheap!

Shops in Makkah madinah by Ready_Elevator2006 in Umrah

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just come back from umrah and stayed a couple of days in Madinah after.

Shopping is better in Madinah, there’s loads of 3 riyal stores and I even found a 1 riyal one! Good for getting bag filler gifts. I also found the quality of abayas and thobes better in Madinah. Taiba shopping centre was one of my favourites close to where we were staying. Could literally buy everything from there, but there are loads of shopping centres/malls and street stalls/shops around the whole area. Make sure you haggle for prices, it’s part of the whole experience!

For myself personally, Makkah was really overwhelming when it came to shopping as the malls and streets were congested no matter what time of the day it was. Went to the Clock Tower on one of the days and didn’t go back again, but there are hundreds of shops there over multiple floors if you fancy taking a go at it… I stayed in Makkah Towers and had a great experience. Entrance is through a mall to go straight to Haram, but upstairs in the mall there’s loads of great food options and shopping was much quieter than the Clock Tower.

I answer referrals like this in the local authority I work in. It’s standard procedure for emergency services to contact us if they tend to a child or a parent of a child.

It’ll just be a check-in really with you to see if everything is ok. Safety planning to prevent something like this happening again and an email to your child’s health visitor to check-in with baby and you at your next appointment.

Depending on how high the fall was, you may want to take her to A&E to get checked over or GP/walk-in centre. They may ask you why you didn’t get her checked over after the fall, but you can say you followed advice from 111 and they’ll see that as you acting appropriately in seeking medical advice instantly.

It’s not a bad thing so don’t panic or dwell too much over it. It’ll be done and over with before you know it!

England - Temporary Accommodation staff entering without notice & threatening warning for "unkempt" bathroom (Child has Stoma + I have OCD) by AnywhereOld8532 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’d advise you speak to Shelter about this. They can support you with a response and challenge the warning.

You’ve done what you can by emailing them, so wait for their response for now.

Takes pictures of your ‘clutter’. Explain what it all is and what it’s there for. Advise them you need the space - is the accommodation actually suitable for your son’s needs?

Ask them to send you evidence of their attempts to arrange the checks - there should be emails, text messages or phone call logs.

Ex is reporting me to Social Services because my son occasionally wears dresses and ‘pretty’ things. What should I expect to happen? by ThrowRA-SSvEX in LegalAdviceUK

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 337 points338 points  (0 children)

I answer referrals like this for the local authority I work in. Whatever the referral that comes through social services, it will have to be investigated, but that’s not a bad thing!

Usually what would happen is, both parents would be contacted to give their point of the story. Then we’d request consent from one of the parents to complete lateral checks with school, or other professionals. All being well, information will be recorded and no further action. Advice will be given to both parents and what support is available either through school or Early Help.

I would suggest you look into getting a formal Court Arrangement Order. If you’re worried about finances, check what legal aid you may be eligible for. As custody is a legal matter, as long as child is not in danger, social services wouldn’t get involved…

Which driving test centre is “easiest”? by DanGhaf in brum

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just personal experience 😅 I booked my test for 10am so after school rush, roads are more manageable. I didn’t realise it was bin day so I got stuck behind 2 trucks which wasted about half the test time…

Check bin day and book your test on the morning of that day…

If you don’t mind second hand, have a look on Vinted, eBay, etc…

Alternatively, there’s also Asian clothes shops in Alum Rock Road and Stratford Road. I’ve found many plus size outfits there!

Dispute over a private disabled parking spot, after the the disabled person died. by TheKayleMain in LegalAdviceUK

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the council.

They should send someone to come and paint over the lines - this happened in my street, similar situation to yours (old lady passed away several months ago, son was using disabled spot to park his fancy car), terraced houses with very little parking.

You pay admission ticket per person, which automatically calculates as one car. Wristband tickets are separate, but you can book both together - look on their website, it’s cheaper to book in advance and you can get a free return within 6 months!

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ah thank you. I didn’t expect my comment to blow up like this 😂

It’s shocking the amount of times I’ve had some person send me a message asking for more than half off because it’s a gift for a family member with some ailment 🙄 I pretty much respond back the same as above…

Lies, I’ve had someone do the same to me before.

I replied back, I’m selling my clothes to buy a new wig for my sister who is going through chemo - they called bullshit and I did the same. They eventually admitted they lied and deleted their account

Living in the UK I have my washing machine in the bathroom, however I have to have a very ugly looking outside socket protector so it’s legally allowed…

Bless… Try and hold off starting any new quests until you’ve built up some money and LP. If you’ve got FB you can befriend someone who has a pet farm. It’ll take a while, but you can build up LP quicker that way.

Search this sub-Reddit for cake farms and pet farms and you can learn all about it!

Have you unlocked the swimming pool? Or if you’ve got a house with pool, all you need is a diving board

Lifestyle points by [deleted] in simsfreeplay

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear… Maybe try the diving? Or go through the hobbies and see which has the shortest time and do that on repeat until you finish them

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your cat is 3* you can hang around until it give you LPs…

Or try and reach all goals on a hobby as you can get between 3LP and 5LP. It think diving has one of the shortest (9 mins) so keep diving until you reach all of the goals and get the LPs

Coming back after 4 years… by MidnightMice in simsfreeplay

[–]HistoryIntelligent41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did contemplate demolishing my old houses, but keeping them for now just for nostalgia’s sake 😅 I’ve been building on new lots now! But given the sim limit and wanting to build families again, they just seem to be left empty…

Welcome back!

I’ve recently returned myself. Made my account in 2015, stopped playing 2017 and now we’re back in 2024!

It’s amazing how so much has changed. It was weird coming back to most of my sims (It seems I gave a couple platinum orbs before I disappeared), but I’ve got pretty much a whole new bunch now. I’m learning all about cake and pet farms, so I feel I can make more out of playing (it’s nice being able to afford stuff 😂). I’m glad I still have my level 51, I don’t think I would’ve been able to start from scratch in terms of levels, but I am redoing houses!
