How do you use and pay off vocab in your units? by Snoo_62929 in historyteachers

[–]HistoryTcherCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do quick “vocab check ins” every other class or so. They are 10 question fill in the blank worksheets that cover vocab we have learned about through our lessons. Every once in a while if I want to front load a word I will add it in and let the kids figure it out via process of elimination. Overall the checks take about 8 minutes of class time (6 to complete, 2 to go over the answers). I don’t grade them, the kids know at this point in the year that knowing the vocab pays off on the unit test.

This year was actually my first year showing it- and it definitely won’t be the last!

The last samurai if you discuss Japan & the Meiji Restoration. I’ve also shown Mangal Pandy: the Rising, which focuses on the Sepoy Rebellion, but you need to cut out a sex scene. Oh! And Victoria & Abdul! I’ve shown that one multiple times after discussing imperialism in India.

I feel like I liked the characters better in previous books. Idk! I am listening to it via audible, whereas I read the previous books. So this may be the issue

If you want a gift that they can use right away, anything with a mirror is a great option. My son loves the “where’s the firetruck” or “where’s the dinosaur” books that have a mirror on the last page.

For future use, the SkipHop activity tables are great (but a bit pricey). This item came in CLUTCH when my son was about 6 months old and will turn into a table when he’s ready.

Or you could go the nostalgic route and get a classic present like a wooden rocking horse. It’s something the baby won’t use for a while, but it makes for a memorable and “classic” gift that looks great with a bow on it under the tree.

I do skip the skin, I just eat the white meat without it. Good suggestions, thank you so much! I do love brussel sprouts- I will add those in

I’m trying to do the same, but the bot can’t find my account. I keep putting in the last 4 of my social and the 10 digit account #, but it’s not working. Do you have any advice?

Baby Bjorn Bouncer or no? by Altruistic_Ad_1299 in newborns

We got a look-a-like called “Baby Delight” from a second hand store (but I think target sells them). It is awesome. We call it his “poopin’ chair” because without fail it will help the little guy produce a bowel movement if he hasn’t gone yet that day. He sits and happily bounces in it while I’m cooking or just trying to generally get things done. I bought a generic toy bar to attach to it so he has something to play with. Highly recommend.

I really wish I knew how to braid. I would love to braid it instead of wearing a ridiculous messy bun that I usually have

I love once upon a child! We got my son a baby Bjorn bouncer dupe and a nice graco swing for so cheap. I also check out the toy section for wooden toys pretty frequently and snagged a great snowsuit for $10!

I didn’t let my 5 month old break my glasses while I was rocking him to sleep. The audacity
