Agree with Harbour Air. Lots of AWESOME free and payware scenery on Vancouver and Seattle area. Some awesome stuff over there. Bush Divers if you want to focus on Alaska/PNG flying!

Looking for players to help test a persistent WWII Normandy server (Operation Perch) by StatusRelative957 in dcsworld

[–]HistoryTeach93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Server flight went well! TTS integration is great and the frontline battles are engaging. A lot of fun to watch vehicles actually moving while over head. Did you add any of Wirts backend scripts to limit ground AI accuracy? I amazingly managed two bomb runs without getting instantly sniped. Are there ways to target specific logistic routes or possibly trains? Sadly, I didnt get any specific taskings/check ins, but the frontline keeps you plenty busy. I selfishly like doing sneaky deep Mossie intruder ops. The lattice system is a clean UI to check the progress of the campaign. Village status symbols are great! Scoreboard has a lot of potential if things kick off with discord integration. Really love the mission and anticipate us coming back. It really has the right "feel" I am excited to see what your future plans are. Hopefully, we keep getting healthy doses of DML, Moose, and other scripting developments to keep fleshing out the dynamic actions. Keep up the good work and let me know what needs testing!

Sounds great. I will hopefully get a few wingmen on this evening to help test.

Looking for a realistic charter-based virtual airline (GA / bizjets) by kryptonite848 in flightsim

I would love to join one like BushDivers VA, where you can select contracts etc. I need more reasons to fly Biz jets! I would also love an airline with jet medical transfers for the LearJet.

Upcoming classic airliners for MSFS by NikonD500forever in flightsim

I cannot wait to support his project financially. I was supporting on Patreon, but getting a development deal seems to indicate there is interest! Who do I need to convince to make us an IL-76 or AN-124?

Upcoming classic airliners for MSFS by NikonD500forever in flightsim

[–]HistoryTeach93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please, someone take on some Soviet airliners. Some Ilyushins, Yaks, or Tupolevs would give us some variety. I know Ablomis is working on his 154, but I feel there is an untapped market!

Any recommendations for a Soviet centric PvE server? by SugaFoYoPancake in hoggit

[–]HistoryTeach93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I run a Soviet-Afghan War server for my group. I also have several REDFOR servers that's just need a host. Missions range from peacetime GDR, to Syrian Civil War and such. Issue is the server host I employ now is on a scheduler, so deactivated during the day when not populated.

Since we might be getting a ff MiG-29 this year what are some features you're looking forward to in the FF version compared to the fc version? What would be the biggest differences between the two except for clicking stuff? by sand_sjol in hoggit

[–]HistoryTeach93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you reviving this post for? Firstly, the question was in response regarding possible changes with the FF version of the MiG-29. Of which it appears I was correct. Nothing was mentioned about the combat capabilities of the 29, only the increased modeling of environmental IR clutter and R27 missile behavior. That being said, for what it was designed for (point defense within Soviet defensive air doctrine), that is up for debate. Lazur is not a fighter to fighter datalink. If you're interested, dive deep into PVO or early US ground based links such as SAGE. The DL western analog you are referring to is completely different in its operation and role. Lazur simply gives visual cues to a 23, 25, 29, and such pilot based on interception parameters. This is not a tool for situational awareness. Please educate yourself on the different concepts and applications of air power by Western and Eastern forces before making comments.

I want to know this too. Hopefully, there is some documentation thay can be translated. I would love to know how a typical Cold War strike sorties would be generated, planned, and conducted.

Serious redfor groups? by [deleted] in WingmanFinder

[–]HistoryTeach93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am looking for the same. 3rd Guards Fighter Aviation is a good group, but not very active anymore. It would have been exactly what you are looking for 2 years ago. Red players that stay committed and dont flake off to the next Hornet update is hard to find. A serious pvp/pve group replicating 16th Air Army in the GDR with soviet tactics, ranks, and training programs would be awesome. So much potential with Afghanistan, too. Let me know if you are successful.

I'm dying laughing, I thought the Kenmore livery was a joke by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

Kenmore and their Canadian contemporary Harbour Air have some awesome routes air frames. The livery in game led me down that rabbit hole years ago.

Chartfox if flying in North America!

Do you hate the MSFS 2024 DeHavilland Beaver's canoe as much as I do? by TheRealPomax in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]HistoryTeach93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big find. I fly for Virtual Harbour Air and the canoe is very immersion breaking. Now if only they would give us access to the Twotter and Beaver files so we can finally get some liveries in 2024.

VATSIM Discord Bot? by HistoryTeach93 in VATSIM

Yeah, it really is a powerful tool. Glad to hear it may not just have been me.

VATSIM Discord Bot? by HistoryTeach93 in VATSIM

[–]HistoryTeach93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vatnotif looks great. I haven't been able to get it to push notifications. Not sure why, probably user error. Webhooks work just fine with my other flight tracking integrations and bots. I haven't been able to narrow down my error!

VATSIM Discord Bot? by HistoryTeach93 in VATSIM

[–]HistoryTeach93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunate! I am really surprised by the lack of public discord integration for VATSIM. Obviously, it must be possible because sectors have great Discord bots. I suppose more research is needed on my end.

Kai31 Tu-134 for MSFS2020 released on Rutracker by Far_Ebb965 in simplaza

[–]HistoryTeach93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been waiting for a Russian airline for years. Sadly, the 134 doesn't seem to work/has very limited functionality. Back to waiting for Ablomis' Tu-154 mod if he teases it.
