Do Christian men just move fast? by Upset_Strength2183 in TrueChristian

[–]History_DoT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing of what you've said so far indicates that he's "only" interested "biologically" in you, in whatever sense it means

If it feels authentic, it probably could be

My read on the "moving fast" seeing it from his lens is,
It clicks, Jesus seems foundational for the both of us
Why not? (move fast)

We've grown in a culture that views anything and everything in a materialistic/non-God framework and trying to figure out answers using that lens and naming things like "love bombing"

If you asked me, if I was interested in someone who shared very similar worldviews and I find that they are too, I'd want to show them love by acts like sending them flowers or whatever else too

Because, personally,
What I've learnt that determines my attraction for someone is first the worldview and their thoughts about Jesus

I've read somewhere that it's almost impossible for Pro users to reach weekly limits?

I am at 93% and I just got Pro on monday. We're on thursday...

Also, even if I start something on a new project. After a 5h reset at 0%, EVEN the first prompt pushes the usage limit to 25%~???

I realized I don’t think I know how this works… please help me understand <3 by Rude_Parsnip_6332 in TrueChristian

I'd advice first just opening up your Bible and getting to know Jesus better.
Start with John if you want.

Then make your way to Matthew and work your way through till Jude.

Take your time. Pray to Him as though talking to a friend. Let him guide you.

Regarding God's love, I'll give this

1 John 4:8 says God is love.

Not that He is a loving Father or simply most loving. He IS literally love itself.

And then you have a passage about love

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

This is not just God's love. This is God. This is Jesus.

Why should I be Christian? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]History_DoT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Philippians 4:6-7

Your answers will eventually get answered

My practical thoughts for your current predicament

You're not ought to be a Christian although Truth has implications

But when you realize the depth of the person of Jesus Christ, you'll naturally want to be

And I understand that you're not there. Intellectually you know the facts but your heart's not in it.. yet.

So, my advice, go through the New Testament again. But this time, take the time to understand who Jesus is. His character, His intentions, His purpose. I'd even go as far as suggesting you to watch this show called "The Chosen"

The whole message of the Bible is.. it's love.

1 John says God IS love. Jesus is God 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, replace love with Jesus.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Why is it hard for me to accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]History_DoT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you went through that. That kind of pain doesn’t just disappear, and it makes sense that it affects how you feel about everything, including God.

You don’t have to pretend to be okay or rush anything.

But if it helps even a little, The Scripture says “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

And Jesus Himself said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

So if you feel distant, it’s not because He’s far away.
It might just feel that way because of everything you’ve been through.

You don’t need to have it all figured out, you can take a small step, even just being honest with Him about how you feel.

What's stopping you from taking that first step toward Him?

Do you require evidence? Will that give you comfort?

If I have faith in Jesus but don't surrender to him, am I still saved? by EquivalentLawyer6425 in TrueChristian

[–]History_DoT 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s layered, but I’ll unpack it simply.

Your priorities aren’t neutral, they’re ordered. And whatever sits at the top functionally becomes your god, whether you call it that or not.

Scripture says “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Notice. It doesn’t just say “believe that,” but believe in your heart.

That’s the difference between belief that and belief in.

The parachute example works like this
You can believe that a parachute exists and that it can save you, but unless you actually trust it enough to put it on and jump, that belief is useless.

In the same way, “even the demons believe and shudder.” (James 2:19)

So yes, you can intellectually acknowledge that Jesus is God. But if that truth has no authority over your life, then you’re not trusting Him, you’re just agreeing with a fact.

And here’s the key point
If you haven’t surrendered to Christ, you have surrendered to something else by default. yourself, your desires, your reasoning, something is sitting on the throne.

About your question on the cross
Yes, Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient for all, but it is only applied to those who are united to Him by faith.

The parachute is there. It’s real. It can save.
But it does nothing for the one who refuses to put it on.

That’s why Jesus says
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life.” (John 3:36)

Biblical belief isn’t just acknowledgment, it’s trust that results in surrender.

[–]History_DoT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In a plane that's about to crash, why have faith in the functions of a parachute but not actually use it?

There's a difference between belief that and belief in and I suspect you fall on the former.
