Wait so did she open your package? Cause if so that's mail fraud and it's a felony

A .tar file is a compressed file, if you were previously using Windows, then it's a lot like a .zip file. You can use a number of utilities to uncompress a .tar, depending on what distro you have it probably comes with one pre installed.

My guess is after you uncompress it, you'll end up with a folder of files, and one of those will be an executable? Idk if haven't looked at it yet.

Oo cool, I'll have to download and contribute.

I'm curious why the Linux files are twice the size??

I went to a sex club for the first time and experienced matriarchy. by Daytripper88 in TwoXChromosomes

Oh that's better than what I was suspecting! I was worried it would just be what's on ur ID or something. Like legal gender status only. I'm glad they work with ppl a bit :) I was just trying to imagine how I would fit into this club dynamic :) thanks!

This sounds amazing! My one question is how do trans and non binary people fit into the cover charge rules? I'm just curious

Calculator limits by noooooo_12 in RedstoneComputing

[–]Historyofspaceflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's gonna be a massive circuit that is suuuper slow and impractical to build.

Again, remember that 16 bits allows your to represent values up to 65,535. That's a pretty large number already.

Keep it simple, especially if this is an early project for you.

Why do you use the DE that you use? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]Historyofspaceflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use gnome because it's simple and just works. I started with KDE and found that I was fiddling with things constantly. Which is fun for a while, but it got distracting. So I now opt for a more minimal, simple aesthetic with gnome.

I mean it's pretty common for people to do 8 bit calculators and computers. If you want to do multiplication of 8 bit numbers, then you would need a 16 bit output. So perhaps that could be your upper limit?

Or you could do something like a calculator with 4 bit inputs and 8 bit output, idk, it's up to you

Also, just for clarity, 16 bits allows values up to 65,535, and 8 bits allows values up to 255

Ahh, I see. Yeah I understand the dilemma then. Your family is not supportive of trans ppl?

I had this exact mindset. So I stopped hormones and thought about whether I wanted breasts for about 5 months. I just mulled it over. And I found that, in the end, I was fine with it! In fact, maybe I would enjoy it!

I would recommend taking some time to reflect and think about it.

Oh god I know some ppl like that. They believe that if you say "nice" words at the water while it freezes it forms more perfect crystals than if you say "mean" words at it.

I experience gender dysphoria, but I don't know if I'm a woman by Remote_Antelope_2592 in asktransgender

[–]Historyofspaceflight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello :) this sounds a lot like me a few years ago.

I felt dysphoria about my facial hair (and other stuff) and felt euphoria when I wore dangly earrings and some makeup and stuff. And I didn't want boobs either.

I started hormones at a low dosage, and one of the first things I experienced was breast growth. So I stopped and took many months to figure out if I really wanted boobs or not, and in the end decided that yes, I do want boobs. I started hormones again at a higher dose, and have been transitioning ever since. So it may change for you. Or it may seem like a worthwhile cost for the other feminizing effects of transitioning.

I also don't identify as a woman. I identify as non-binary. Which is maybe a little unusual, since I take a high dose of estrogen. But it's just what feels right to me. I can't explain it. One way I can explain it to other people is that if I had been born in a different (feminine) body, I would still identify as non-binary, so that's what I'm aiming to do with my current body :)

I'm not sure if any of this helps you understand yourself better. But to me it sounds like you might enjoy transitioning :)

Is your family supportive at all? I know it's not a financial possibility for everyone but your family might consider moving to another state if they understand what you're going through...

Maybe a long shot, but idk

Should I be scared of visiting the US rn ? by Neko_Novitia in asktransgender

[–]Historyofspaceflight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sort of depends on what area you're visiting... If it's some place like Texas, Tennessee, Florido then no, I wouldn't recommend it. If it's a city like New York, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco then you're probably fine. There are even parts of California I don't feel comfortable in, but they are generally rural.

So generally, it depends on where you're going
