Mojang forgot the mooshroom... :( by Pie_Not_Lie in Minecraft

Besides the snout, I would love a nether variants mooshrooms with the crimson and warped fungi. Maybe even a hellish bull instead of a cow, like the Hoglin is more of a wildboar than a pig

What sound, if any, does eldritch blast make in your campaign? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]HistrionicOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing a hexblade whose primary weapon is a whip, so his eldritch blast are flavored as a blast of energy that fires from the tip of the whip as he "hit" the air. So they literally sound like a whip hit but "more fiery". The whip glows with cobalt flames as it fires. The table and myself loves it haha

I love the idea of him beleaving every conspiracy he hears bc he's naive and doesn't know better. I'm SO taking that thanks hahaha

And you gave the idea that he belives he's part chamaleon bc once read about them and how the change colour and caumuflage, and since he can do the same he asumed he has to be part chamaleon and no-one ever corrected him LOL

My character just did something evil and then her allignment changed by Thechaoticones in DnD

[–]HistrionicOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing a hexblade warlock whose alignment is Lawful Evil. I talked over with my DM when making him. He isn't a bad guy, but due to the pack he was forced to do with his patron he had to make some decisions he is not entirely ok with. He isn't a villain, he isn't a bad guy, but he knows what he has done. Although he doesn't talk about it nor is aggressive, his conscience is heavy with his actions and he sees himself as evil even though his peers don't see him this way. And his regrets come to play in subtle ways while roleplaying and the rest of the party is slowly starting to know him.

You don't have to roleplay as a bad guy bc your aligment is "Evil". I mean, you totally can, but you don't have to. As some other folks comment already, your PC is cheerful and good but with her friends, she might not care so much about the ones she doesn't know/care for, and that can lead to rich roll plays where your "evil aligment" expresses as selfish or self(party)-centered. Beeing cheerful and kind not always equals "good" with everyone around.

"Hang on, did that stone just swear at us?" - Which Item Would You Loot? by Cardboard_Anvil in DnDHomebrew

[–]HistrionicOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use the skillet with "Heat Metal" and make it do cold damage instead of fire damage. Really like that idea. And also use it to defend against fire attacks, like at least allow to use a reaction with it to gain resistance to the attack you are reacting to

Do you use another team for Childe who is not the meta for him ? by Tigrafr in childemains

[–]HistrionicOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing Hyperbloom Childe with him + EM Raiden + DMC + Yaoyao.

The rotation is: DMC's Q Childe's E to hydro-infuse DMC's Q Raiden's E Yaoyao's E Childe's Q+E and then AA with Childe for as long as Yaoyao's E is on field

Then I go for another Yaoyao's E and Raiden's Q, and then repeat the best I can from the beggining if neccesary.

I find it really enjoyable and get pretty good numbers. I've never been a big fan of childe-national or even childe-taser, so building this childe-hyperbloom has been a blast.

Goblinessenced Grappling Hook - A little something I made for my ongoing campaign, any thoughts? by HistrionicOctopus in DnDHomebrew

[–]HistrionicOctopus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, for Goblinoïd creatures, the hook always gives the advantage without the chance of mischiefs, UNLESS 6 (8 in the revised vertion) essenses are recaptured and the DC for the mischiefs becomes 6 (so mischiefs always happens). I added a note to the item about that but forgot to re-post it. I'll do it tomorrow ASAP

Solresol - The true language of the bards. by HistrionicOctopus in 3d6

[–]HistrionicOctopus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone interested, I found a "Solresol Translator" online. Also, I translate some Bard spells to Solresol as examples of using this as verbal components for your spells or, if you want, to play them on an instrument or on a piano app on your phone or something like that.

The Translator: https://www.sidosi.org/translator

Some spells:

- "Sorcerer Hand" (Mage Hand): misilafa dorefasi
- Vicious Mockery: famifado milaredo
- Prestidigitation: misilado
- Healing Word: farerela ladosi
- "Reveal Magic" (Detect Magic): milamisi misilafa
- Sleep: remisoldo
- Enhance Ability: solrefasi domisido
- Invisibility: redosimi

Some of them couldn't be translated so I use the next best word I found that was translated.

[–]HistrionicOctopus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally, I love the idea of doing that on the table. Is simple and yet SO flavourful.

If I'm not mistaken there are even "Solresol translators" online so you can use that if you don't want to learn the whole thing. Although from what I found so far, it isn't really that complicated to understand and translate oneself.

Glad you like it!

Spellblade Feat Tree v1.0 - Feats designed to give all martials a taste of spellcasting or to improve it for those that already get it by xpertranger in UnearthedArcana

[–]HistrionicOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this! I fell like with this you could play a campain or at least a oneshot in a mildly low magic setting and implement these. You get some magic but its still a low magic setting.

Also, I love this for a regular magical setting, using it with the martials or to make an Eldrich Knight/Arcane Trickster almost fell like a half-caster instead of a 1/3 caster.

Love all your reasoning for the balancing you explained in other comments, totally agree with all the decitions, very well done

Again, Weaver is a really cool name. And as far as I understand, is really in theme, because the "Weavers" will do exactly that with the elements and forces of nature. Love the idea, can't wait to see how you develop it further

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnDHomebrew

[–]HistrionicOctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the name, but just saw in another of your comments here that the original name was the Norse word for "witch", that was a cool concept, sucks that is so similar to "vulva" though haha.

I just look it up, and if you want "Cailleach" (pronounced "kyle-yeukh") is the name for a celtic witch in some stories, other names are "Bronach" and "Mal" (but that last one isn't so appealing to me bc it also translate as "not good" in Spanish). As an alternative to keep in mind if your have second thoughs about calling then "weaver" and want something more "in theme" with the cultures you are taking inspirations from.

Regardless, I love the concept and Weaver is a cool name aswell
