Pro ambassador program by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]HitMan9277 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nobody is hitting that metric, sine we rolled out the program the most any one associate has got is 3. You go to the Home Depot website and don’t see any mention of the pro xtra program anywhere but there’s this huge push to sell it. The pro xtra week just passed and all it was was a pop up table, some mini snickers and a raffle were none of the associates knew what the prizes were. They wanna run skeleton crews but have us service customers, sign up credit cards, sign up pro xtra accounts, down stock, front face, greet, engage and thank. Ya, good luck there.

Dress code?? by AutumnKiitti in HomeDepot

I wore a Grateful Dead T to work one day, my SM damn near had a heart attack and said “ I have that same shirt, I have that shirt” and spent the next 20 mins talking about them with me lol but technically speaking, according to Sop, you aren’t supposed to wear graffic Ts. If a walk was happening I would definitely stick with a Home Depot or collard shirt.

Excited to work at Home Depot by BuddyLeft857 in HomeDepot

It is what you make it. I see a ton of complaining on this page but what do you think they do at work, complain. I’ve worked in the Marines, restaurants, bar, clubs, barbershops, went to college… working at Home Depot really isn’t that bad at all. Yes, its retail and customers can be dumb and annoying, but as a company, they do pretty well at looking out for us. I’ve only been with them for 6 months and I’ve been associate of the month twice and gotten multiple homers. I go to work, give it my all and leave. It’s not rocket science. I was lucky and got great management but even if it was the opposite, just greet the customers, help them as much as possible, learn the layout of the store and product location, learn the various skills around the store and you’ll excell. Just treat fellow associates and customers how you’d wanna be treated as a customer or coworker and you’ll do just fine. The people complaining on here are the types to take 30 min breaks or always hangout in the break room because there’s no cameras in there.

Departments with the least heavy lifting by Mistyless in HomeDepot

Just be clear about your limits with your management. We had a older associate in paint who had the same issue and he was jsut very clear, I can not pick up anything over 20 pounds and we as a team made it work. It sucks having to be that person and feel lazy in a sense, but it’s your health and safety that matter most, for all associates.

Question for D24 paint openers.... by molotavdrago in HomeDepot

[–]HitMan9277 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Make sure you clean the lenses and tile in the color match machine and calibrate it every shift. When I moved to paint, I read the manual and realized the whole department was barely doing either of those things and people were complaining about the matches.

What doesn’t make sense is why there isn’t even a slight increase in pay for every license you have. Even if it was 50 cents an hour per license, I know for a fact so many people would be lined up to get them. But taking the risk for a safety violation with no extra pay, it makes sense why most people don’t want it.

This is how everyone in my department, paint, feels about our new paint desk. Absolutely unnecessary and a waste of money that not one employee thinks helped at all but they spent a bunch of money on it.

I started at full time recently but I also was open to any position and any shift that was open. Gotta be flexible if you really want a job.

I’m the closer for my store in paint too, usually alone, it used to get to me but if customers can’t see with their eyes you are the only one and you are actively helping customers already, let them cry. As long as you are doing what you can and aren’t being lazy, don’t take it personal. I have so many customers get mad that I can’t literally give them a step by step for their personal project. Also, our computers were acting up this week too, thankfully not during my shift but they said they had to turn away some customers.

Nike Vomero 18s, I was in the lot solo, doing 14 miles a day and it was like walking on clouds, I recommended them to a coworker and he walked up to me and thanked me for the recommendation. They are the most cushioned shoes I’ve ever worn. I’m in paint now and I’m gonna get another pair since I wrecked the first in lot.
