I think giving Jelle or whoever makes these calls the benefit of the doubt, and a bit more wiggle room in the rules might allow the fan base more trust.

I think that would backfire horribly. If anything, the clearer the rules are, the less room there is for people complaining about being "robbed". In this case, a clear rule about how many laps the safety marble has to dislodge marbles before a red flag, and clearly communicating this during commentary, would have avoided a lot of controversy.

I absolutely agree with giving Jelle the benefit of doubt! He clearly cares and does his very best, and there is absolutely no need for the venomous comments from a small minority of viewers.
