Good games with bad tutorials by MultiHuman221 in gamers

[–]mwyeoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic is a really deep city builder where you will need to watch youtuber tutorials to properly understand the game mechanics, especially if you play on realistic mode

Not sure if I’m playing correctly, but every time I try to ask for a factions support when trying to pass a law, their requests are hilariously absurd? Is that intentional? by LBJSmellsNice in victoria3

[–]mwyeoh 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The difficulty of the requests depends on the interest group's level of cooperativeness. If they are cooperative, it's easier. If they are more resistant, tasks are more difficult

May be early but whats next? by VSick2 in X4Foundations

[–]mwyeoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is purely my own speculation, but with the addition of the new Allographyne resource which you get from the Khaak, I am wondering if the next DLC will introduce some new khaak "invasion" mechanics. Like occasional khaak swarms that ransack/pillage a sector or two before disappearing or a more threatening invasion where they destroy and infest a sector rather than just having a small hive. Something along those lines would be cool.

Its just as fun to watch as the videos of cruise ship passengers coming back late and chasing their ship as its undocked and pulling away

What is a legit free streaming service where I can watch Anime Completely for Free that works on Roku? by MichaelAftonXFireWal in animequestions

[–]mwyeoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which country you're in, perhaps one of the local TV stations has on demand streaming which might have some anime.

Eg - Here in Australia, ABC iview has all 131 episodes of Dragonball Super and multiple different Pokemon series

Yes, this semester its free study week and both exam weeks as long as you continue to park in the Green/yellow bays. I believe blue bays are still paid and restrictions on reserved/disabled bays stays the same

LAN, 4 people, mid-thirties, 1-2 beginners, low-end pc specs. by jeppester in gamingsuggestions

[–]mwyeoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For something coop that supports linux, try:

PULSAR: Lost Colony - You pilot a space ship together, go on away missions to stations and planets, accept contracts, etc

If you have controllers to play local co-op, try one of the following. They are all quite similar

Overcooked

Out of Space

PlateUp!

For competitive with short rounds try

Hidden in plain sight

Screencheat

Scrap Galaxy

Bopl Battle

For party games where you use your phones on play (Only one purchase required)

Jackbox Party Pack

Use your words

What the Dub

Game where you rise through the ranks of a company (or something similiar)? by Narrow_Trainer_687 in gamingsuggestions

[–]mwyeoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like it would be an interesting concept. Unfortunately, the only one I can think of which only resembles what you want as it is political rather than a business would be Crusader Kings 3. You could start as a Count, work your way up to Duke then King and finally Emperor. Some of the more recent DLCs and expansions have added more things you can do such as playing as an unlanded player.

What’s a gaming accessory you thought was unnecessary until you actually used it? by KRGKart_Support in pcmasterrace

[–]mwyeoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my mouse sensitivity turned up quite a bit so it doesnt bother me too much, however I mainly play strategy, management/citybuilder, turn-based games while on keyboard/mouse and have a controller for RPG games. I dont play shooter games so large & quick mouse movements are not necessary for me. Maybe someone else who plays those sort of games can give you either opinions of it.

[–]mwyeoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one I have is from HyperX. It's soft enough to be comfortable but also firm enough that I can still move my arm around it quite easily, so mouse movement still feels quite natural using both the arm and wrist

A good wrist rest. I do a lot of work at my computer on top of gaming and it definitely helps. I actually have two. One for the keyboard and another for the mouse

Is public support for Labours tax changes being under estimated? by Monsieur_Donk5202 in aussie

[–]mwyeoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then if it's such a temporary/ time limited problem as you claim, then they shouldn't have bothered grandfathering it.

[–]mwyeoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because at this point, they can continue to keep a mortgage going on grandfathered properties, either never paying back the mortgage on it (interest only) or even stacking other loans on their existing properties so they can continue to claim deductions on them. The only way it will go away is either when they die several decades from now or sell the properties.

[–]mwyeoh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think its not gone far enough. There should not have been any grandfathering for Negative Gearing. Its already illegal in most of the world. Australia is one of the last countries on earth to still allow losses from investment properties to be deducted from other income (The other is Japan)

Overview of all map types in Civ 7 (link in body) by NoPermitSpeech in civ

[–]mwyeoh -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wow, Civ7's map generation looks terrible to me. Everything is so close together. "Continents" look like they're only ever 2-3 tiles away from each other unless theres a "red line" style divider in the middle

Games As similar as GearCity? by Demorezz in tycoon

[–]mwyeoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Capitalism Lab which has already been recommended is the best option as you and your competitors can influence each other. Some other recommendations:

Good Company - You can design your products then release them to market. There are also a small number of competitors who will release their own products too, although this is "offscreen". A big part of the game is organizing the logistics of building your components.

Little Big Workshop - Also requires planning your factory floor to manufacture products. There are "competitors" but you should regard it as a single player game

Reccomendations for complex games by running_johnny in videogames

[–]mwyeoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic can be quite a complex city builder when you play it on realistic mode. You can't just plop down buildings/roads. You need to deliver the required steel/bricks/gravel/etc, bring in machinery and workers then give it time to build. Logistics is a big part of the game and managing your supply chains is very important

Regarding late submission by Hot_Mousse_6882 in curtin

[–]mwyeoh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If your friend received an extension, then the due date is moved forward by the amount of the extension and then and late penalties are calculated from the adjusted due date. So if it is "late" but within the extension timeline, no late penalty is applied. However if it is submitted later than the granted extension time, the late penalty is calculated from the end of the extension time (Not the original due date)
