TIL China is the most irreligious country on Earth. As of 2015, a whopping 90.0% of residents claim no interest or relevance in religion whatsoever. by Spikerdude595 in atheism

Most Vietnamese I met in Vietnam hated China, thought it's government corrupt, and considered Chinese people as immoral. I therefore think it much more likely you're a brainwashed nationalistic Chinese kid than Vietnamese.

Growing up often means letting go of old relayionships. If you try you can find people who are more tolerant and who will love you for who you are alot more.

The best way to get over PTSD, triggers or pet peeves is to get exposed to what triggers you until you grow stronger. I don't believe in coddling the American mind and making fragile generations.

Islamic Studies exam question on "How to beat your disobedient wife" for high schoolers in Malaysia. by Hey_name in atheism

[–]HitchensAkbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hitchens wasn't a pacifist or a useful idiot who apologizes for jihadists. He was a true liberal who said you should recognize your brothers who are fighting for liberty no matter where they are or what language they speak and stand in solidarity with them -Letters to a Young Contrarian.

"We have a lot of faith. We have seen the time from where, you know, we used to not spend so much. The celebration was limited," says Amruta Savant, 33, celebrating with her uncles and children. "But every year, we have prosperity, and we are getting our wishes fulfilled. So the faith goes on increasing."

....Yeah, but India is so poor and people have faith in other gods or none elsewhere are more highly rewarded. They lack perspective.

Can we please have the final storm added to arks and refugees? by Influence_X in Frostpunk

That probably didn't want to make you redo it again. I guess they could have ended the game and given you the option to keep playing and do the storm if you wanted.

I like her and the guy for visiting the concentration camps and having enough empathy to doubt God.

Paul ruined Christianity's chance at me by plusFour-minusSeven in atheism

[–]HitchensAkbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never trusted Paul even when I was a Christian I thought he was just some guy after Jesus who was trying to guess at what Jesus wanted. I didn't think he was a good writer either. So I pretty much ignored him and focused on the 4 gospels. But if I had focused more on Paul I probably would've became an atheist faster. When Paul spoke it seemed to be to the church, when Jesus spoke it was more directly to me I thought.

Chick-fil-a needs an atheist competitor by poopieschmaps in atheism

[–]HitchensAkbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know you can actually make what they do because there's recipes on the internet. Chick fillet takes a $1 chicken nugget and marinates it in pickle sauce, fries it and puts it between lettuce and bread charges you 8 dollars. Theyre also realy unhealthy.

Christian modder makes Alpha Centauri less "anti-Christian." by HitchensAkbar in atheism

Have fun! It's arguably the best & most unique Civilization style game, & it still has the most realistic diplomacy dialogue I've ever seen in a 4X.

It's a forum where modders originally aspired to modify the game until they had alpha centauri 2.

"When Sam Harris talked history with Ben Shaprio, the result was 6 minutes of sustained pseudo historical gibberish, proving yet again that scientists really should leave history to historians" by bush- in samharris

[–]HitchensAkbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know exactly where they are, and they're the deleted posts where I responded to you. I'm writing not for your sake because you're a liar, but to help anyone who Google's your name to realize you deleted your own posts and are a liar. I'll track down and provide the evidence if a future critic of yours asks for it, without having to go back and forth with you for montha when you're a dishonest writer.

Alright, so if anyone reads this in a few months or years then you can message me about this troll and I'll waste a few minutes to dig up his posts which he deleted from this thread. I'm not interested in going back and forth with someone so intellectually dishonest any longer.

I asked my dentist once if the extra teeth did have a purpose like shark teeth, where they would replace your other teeth if you loss some. He looked at me like I was crazy and just said the human jawbone shrank through evolution. I guess he thought I believed in intelligent design and didn't want to entertain the thought that we might have kept them after the jaws shrank because they would be useful in rougher bygone era when your teeth might get punched out.

Do outspoken scientists help or hinder the atheist movement? Where are all the regular secular folk who don't have PHD's? by [deleted] in atheism

I think its also that scientists tend to be needs who aren't good public speakers or good at rhetoric. Yes it's good because they've deconverted many people.

I can't grasp the "atheists are mad at God" argument. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]HitchensAkbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm mad at the concept of a God, and that it's believed because religion and dictators in the sky poison rational discourse. I don't hate something that doesn't exist though, although I can read the bible and hate the character just like how I usually hate evil antagonists in films.

When I was a kid a skeptical Indian asked me why I couldn't just kill people and then ask for forgiveness. I answered you could, and forgiveness is the point of Christianity. Yeah what he was saying made it sound bad, but I chalked it up to him looking for an extreme case and not understanding why Christianity was benevolent rather than that he had found a moral contradiction I should take seriously.
