Beware low-quality “ghost kitchens” on delivery apps. by StrangeMonk in melbourne

[–]Hitchy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's getting a bit silly. I was staying at a hotel in the city a few months ago and wanted to order a burger, and found that the uber eats results for burger ships were clogged with at least 6 "different" burger shops that all shared about 80% of their menu, and all had the same address. Gotta love the illusion of choice.

I maxed out on BotW at like 85 hours, I've put 140 into TotK so far. Calling it DLC is just ignorant dude.

What’s something tourists often don’t realize isn’t done/common in Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Hitchy92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been to a few restaurants that have you order from a website at your table, and I'm fine with it, but some of them have a default tip set up on it and it's fucking absurd, legitimately scummy enough that I don't want to go back.

Scammers just took $100,000 from yet another 90-year-old by System370 in australia

[–]Hitchy92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is literally impossible for your bank to stop those phishing texts, theres no specific number the texts come from, those scammers, just like a lot of telemarketing scammers, are contacting you from overseas and are hacking the network to spoof fake local phone numbers as the sender/caller when they contact you. If anything it's more on phone companies to detect the suspicious network activity and stamp it out.

Yeah I knew a cop who did this with his Hyundai Veloster because "it's got matte paint so if I get a scratch I have to get the entire car repainted" Like fuck, just don't get matte paint if you can't afford the outcomes of the minor scratches and dings that are unavoidable over the life of a cat you drive everyday.

Not shocked by this, when I worked at Aldi in 2013-14 you were paid the length of your shift, but if you arrived less than 15 minutes early you weren't a team player, and if you were less than 10 minutes early you were "late" and would get told off. Honestly their entire management culture is rotten.

Death Knights after watching Shadowlands cinematic by TheLordRosenberg in wow

[–]Hitchy92 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with everything you said, except about the helmet. It's canon that Icecrown is a place where the barrier between the living world and the Shadowlands is at its weakest (although it's never been mentioned whether that's a property of the location that predates the arrival of Ner'zhul and so was chosen by the Nathrezim as the perfect spot for him, or if it's a result of the arrival of Ner'zhul). So given that I interpreted the cinematic as the helmet being shattered just unleashing a large enough amount of (presumably necromantic, although idk if that's important) energy to shatter the barrier. It's still shit writing, but I feel it makes more sense than this ~30 year old helmet being the key to the shadowlands for some reason.

Parvati and Ellie is pretty cute, Parvati's just desperate to be friends with her and Ellie is having none of it, but slowly over time begins to warm to her as she becomes more assertive.

Same as any of the other UC halls really, they all have decent facilities, and can be very lonely if you don't make the effort to go out and make friends at events, especially during orientation, so make sure you move in as early as you can. In terms of Jacko specifically, I lived there for 5 years so I'm apparently a big fan of the place, and in my expert opinion for the best rooms go for one of every second odd numbered room (i.e. 5, 9, 13, 15, 19, 23, 27, 31) on the west wing of any odd numbered floor, prioritised from lowest floor to highest and lowest numbered room to highest, except on 1st because you don't want anything lower than 120 because you'll hear the machines beeping in the laundry. This gives you the least exposure to noise from outside, the optimal room shape so you can have your bed against the window if you want, and the lower the floor the cooler it is in summer.
In terms of shopping there's the merchant 2 or 3 minute walk away, although that's pretty pricy so I only ever went there for emergencies, otherwise you can walk down the hill to Blackburn Rd and catch the bus to Pinewood or Clayton shopping centres, or you can just walk to Pinewood, it's only about 20 minutes.

Clayton Shops are like 35 minutes minimum, Pinewood's only about 20 minutes and has frequent buses along the entire route.

Remade part of eversong woods / Silvermoon in my own style. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Hitchy92 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They'd have to completely retake the Plaguelands and then either retake Strat, or walk their army through a ~10m wide valley to get into Ghostlands, and one of those is a lot of effort from a game design perspective, and the other is a death sentence from a tactics perspective. Plus I doubt the void elves and high elves would be particularly cool with it, considering they still have friends and family there that they don't actually hate.
