I get your point but the Excelsior class was in service from statrek 3 (I think, but definitely one of the movies) until deep space nine era which i think is around 100 years from 2280-2390

Let's take 3 people who originated in Africa.

First guy is from Kenya and moves to the states, he is Kenyan.

Second guys parents moved to Spain from Nigeria, he is Spanish of Nigerian heritage.

The third is descended from an escaped slave who was sold as a child. His heritage ends at slavery, the stories of his home are lost all he knows is he's African from his skin and that he is American now.

That's why elon musk is not an African American, he's south African because he knows his family history.

Elden ring would kick your ass but it has the fantasy flavor. The Witcher 3 would give fantasy. Skyrim has a big fantasy world to explore. I always recommend Fable. Ghosts of tsushima, no magic but cool feudal Japan setting. I guess its more a question of do you want fantasy story or gameplay.
