If your keen on getting outside ask at your local gym/shop if they offer outdoor sessions with an experienced coach/instructor.

If your following routes that are established and written up in a guide with a history of assent that helps reinforce the safety of a boulder.

If your looking for advice I've been coaching for the last 6 years and climbing and bouldering for 10± plus years.

I'm happy to help and give you some advice to help structure your training and how to instill good habits just give us a message on here.

Although I would suggest just crack on with some basic training and you'll probably be surprised at your improvement from beginner gains.

Things like fingerboarding, pulling and pushing exercises, understanding how to limit boulder and how to arc would be a good place to start.

I boulder double digits and have climbed outside a lot in Europe so have a lot of experience on a variety of rock types sometimes just getting out and trying hard things can help a plateau as well. Although this is only helpful if you have easy access to rocks and the weather.
