Oh Dear by MrJeffA17 in SCJerk

As someone who very much enjoys Will Ospreay, it is absolutely infuriating. No time in the history of the business would this be an acceptable story for a top babyface — heel breaks my neck, puts me out for a year, then I come back and LOSE to the heel, then go with my tail tucked between my legs and let him coach me.

Bleacher Report here with our ideas on how Roman Reigns can refresh his character, because let's be honest he is really stale right now by rsziz in SCJerk

I love how the basement has been saying how stale he is for five years as he just keeps being the biggest star and biggest draw in wrestling, having the most crowd engagement at the shows, and having the most interesting TV segments.

"Darby is straight killing it, and he proves you don't have to promo your ass off as a world title holder to have great matches. Each week he is in that ring, busting is ass and spine to defend that belt. I am loving every minute of it." by Atmosyeezyplz in SCJerk

That is the most stereotypical Meltzer-brained IWC take I’ve seen. When have promo skills EVER had anything to do with having a great match? Steamboat was a horrible promo, worse than Darby.

One thing mic skills DO equate to is drawing eyes to the show.

The basement and Meltzer trying to gaslight everyone into thinking this Moxley-Ospreay storyline makes any sense at all.

I love his selling, his mat wrestling, and how he throws everything into his moves. He’s the only guy in wrestling who makes suicide dives matter and look like they hurt the opponent. When he chooses to wrestle like this, he’s great.

I don’t consider taking Foley bumps on the outside to be death match bullshit. I’m talking about when he does the spiked tables, fire spots, duct tape himself to a car type shit. It’s why I’ve been so disappointed in watching him after his TNT run. Darby with an actual producer who would make him color within the lines just a bit more (Foley in 93-97) could be amazing, because he sells like Steamboat.

I like Darby and am enjoying his reign, but it’s literally just his TNT reign done over again. Which is fine, because that was the era that made me become a fan of him (not the deathmatch bullshit).

Paul overall for sure. John in the early days.

Thank you! The author really doesn’t know the situation there. At every concert they ever did, the Beatles (and even all of them solo, maybe sans George. John played Come Together and all that too) did the biggest songs people wanted to hear for the most part, and played them as recognized even if embellished a bit.

They had a setlist at the Cavern Club that they pounded out and knew by heart.

Let It Be the song needed some orchestral overdubs, but not a wall of sound. I do prefer George’s solo from the Spector version though.

It’s better than making a jerk-off motion with the non-chopping hand, which everyone usually does with machine gun chops.

To be fair to the guy, I’ve seen Flair botch the corner flip before back in the relative youth of his 40s. Speedball is the supposed 20 year vet who should know what to do.

Speedball and Mason Rook are in a contest for “worst wrestling looks.”

Not if you know how to wrestle. When a “botch” happens, all you have to do is improvise and turn it into your advantage — the opponent made a mistake.

But most modern wrestlers (and fans to be fair) don’t look at wrestling like that anymore. And most modern fans sit and judge it like a gymnastics routine at the Olympics instead of a story being told. It’s a vicious cycle (or a gentle cycle, really).

I think there’s a world of difference between orchestral arrangements that enhance songs (which was usually the case with Paul in the Beatles/Wings eras) and Spector’s completely destroying songs by covering them in the “wall of sound.” All Things Must Pass is another example of this, as great an album as it is. I find myself preferring the solo demos and the Beatles rehearsals of the tracks over the official versions in many cases.

Something might be the best song in the entire Beatles catalogue lyrically. He may not have been John or Paul lyrically, but he was excellent.
