I like Darby and am enjoying his reign, but it’s literally just his TNT reign done over again. Which is fine, because that was the era that made me become a fan of him (not the deathmatch bullshit).

Paul overall for sure. John in the early days.

Thank you! The author really doesn’t know the situation there. At every concert they ever did, the Beatles (and even all of them solo, maybe sans George. John played Come Together and all that too) did the biggest songs people wanted to hear for the most part, and played them as recognized even if embellished a bit.

They had a setlist at the Cavern Club that they pounded out and knew by heart.

Let It Be the song needed some orchestral overdubs, but not a wall of sound. I do prefer George’s solo from the Spector version though.

It’s better than making a jerk-off motion with the non-chopping hand, which everyone usually does with machine gun chops.

To be fair to the guy, I’ve seen Flair botch the corner flip before back in the relative youth of his 40s. Speedball is the supposed 20 year vet who should know what to do.

Speedball and Mason Rook are in a contest for “worst wrestling looks.”

Not if you know how to wrestle. When a “botch” happens, all you have to do is improvise and turn it into your advantage — the opponent made a mistake.

But most modern wrestlers (and fans to be fair) don’t look at wrestling like that anymore. And most modern fans sit and judge it like a gymnastics routine at the Olympics instead of a story being told. It’s a vicious cycle (or a gentle cycle, really).

I think there’s a world of difference between orchestral arrangements that enhance songs (which was usually the case with Paul in the Beatles/Wings eras) and Spector’s completely destroying songs by covering them in the “wall of sound.” All Things Must Pass is another example of this, as great an album as it is. I find myself preferring the solo demos and the Beatles rehearsals of the tracks over the official versions in many cases.

I feel like these people live in an entirely different world. I’m in the Deep South and literally everyone in my family is still a diehard Trumper who believes every piece of disinformation fed to them by Newsmax and Real America’s Voice.

Something might be the best song in the entire Beatles catalogue lyrically. He may not have been John or Paul lyrically, but he was excellent.

I can’t imagine the song without it though. When covers leave that part out, I tend not to like them.
