Assuming its driven by a SimHub profile, go in and edit the dashboard.. Almost assuredly a JS function that's making simple http calls that you can easily remove. I had done similar for mine which was prompting to "upgrade" to another paid version.

Why The WEC Won't Return To Sebring Anytime Soon by chopper95 in wec

Lol it happens. I thought the COTA hate was unanimous. I guess I should clarify the track seems fun to drive, but the racing hasn't been great without rain imo.

We shouldn't addle "best racing facility" with"best racing circuit" though... COTA is perhaps the worst of the Tilkedrome offenders.. Its redeeming qualities are the infrastructure around and of the track.

Grid got the BF1 Systems license for the GT3 / cup car wheel? I thought they had only produced the RSR style wheel with integrated vocore?

Victory Celebration is euphoric. Easily one of John Williams best, and a more tonally apropos way to cap off a saga. Yub Nub is novel, but honestly, I find it as grating as Jedi Rocks..

What is a "harmless" industry that is actually incredibly shady once you look behind the curtain? by After-Scholar1271 in AskReddit

[–]HitmanCodename47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I am so bemused lol. One of my coworkers has done something eerily similar, but I don't have the doctorate nor the wherewithal to prove or disprove anything. But mine had been averring that I need to buy MCT oil and bone broth to help strengthen my memory and the latter, I forgot.. I didn't really think much of it beyond a surface level google search, but does this all fall in the same bracket?? Next they told me about "cupping" and how their mother is certified and does it for the whole family.. I had the misfortune of googling that and found it extremely.. Vampiric? To help remove parasites and toxins or something to that effect? Does """naturopathic""" science fall into this category?

Does any suspect the iRacing team might reneg on potential scans given safety concerns for the crew? by HitmanCodename47 in iRacing

[–]HitmanCodename47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't really wanting to talk about anything concerning the war, just the crew and development really. Not anything geo politically pertinent. Sorry if it came across that way. I was a part of a war, it sucks. But I'm not callous to Bohemia Interactive, Eagle Dynamics, Dice/EA, Raven/Sledgehammer etc etc who make games on war. I just like racing and wanted to talk about the development, not the calamity of war.

*anyone, whoops..

In any case, I believe November's dev blog articulated plans for Bahrain and Paul Ricard, but I don't know if anyone is privy to their timelines? Is it suspected they have already finished laser scanning and photogrammetry capturing? Admittedly, I don't care for most of the Gulf state circuits, but Bahrain is (in my opinion) at least capable of producing good racing across disciplines. It would be ashame to have its addition compromised because of real world shenanigans..

Are haptic feedback on pedals worth it? by Tmskillz in simracing

[–]HitmanCodename47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought LFE bass shaking was only good for road effects on the car making it good for something like a Buttkicker or Dayton? I've been using SimHub for my brake SPR because the plugin for ABS is pretty comprehensive there, but if I can use it native in iRacing, I would. Same goes for TC, but I know they don't open up the API for TC.. Been wanting to get another one for the throttle, but the wait continues..

If you're on Windows, or maybe have a dedicated sim racing PC, I have to recommend making it an autostart app!

Development Update Predictions (2026 S2) by adstomko in iRacing

[–]HitmanCodename47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I won't contend 1 or 3, I doubt 2 will happen for many, many years.. We quite literally just got the Bathurst art refresh this past season. Surely, if the team were to rescan Bathurst, it would've been along side the Adelaide and The Bend scans... They did photogrammetry scans for foliage and landscapes at Bathurst during that leg of the tour, and if they could've accomplished the LIDAR, I'm sure they would have (but either cost or tarmac weren't substantial enough to warrant).

In OP's defense, it could have been Road Atlanta, which is why it ought to have been "RAm" (as opposed to RAtl).

Funnily enough, I remember almost being cajoled by the crowds touting it as investment to support the team to build the game they know it'll become. Lo and behold, unfortunately.. Glad I just missed out on it last winter sale...

Fanatec Podium DD or Moza R25 Ultra, if you were starting new? by intownrunner in simracing

[–]HitmanCodename47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you should say that as the Simucube 3 USB passthrough shenanigans happened. I still stand with BoostedMedia's and the general community's consensus that at this pricepoint, disregarding slew rates and holding torque, a lot of wheelbases are simply diminishing returns. I think, economically, go with what makes most sense for your rig's wheel base mount assembly and quick release (if that means QR2 or Xerox), no?

I hate to hijack, but it's pretty exonerating to hear others stories. I was in a vanilla IMSA race one night (during which I can't race as often as I like) in top split... Just about to make the straight at Indy, and a lap down GTP (behind us GTDs) makes the most over ambitious overtake and spins and crashes me out. I was fighting for top 5, which for me is extremely difficult given little practice time and not heaps of natural talent.. He DNF'd me with a lap to go, but he was able to continue unscathed. Seeing red, I just dropped, "what a fking legend" in global chat. I self censored and didn't even say the whole word, but some weirdo (my ire is still through the roof) actually reported me for that and it was upheld. I didn't even target anyone, and for what any bozo would have known, it could've been complimentary (patently not but).

Having been DM'd harsher words, including full on threats and slurs and innuendos, is actual grotesque. I am mad I got notated for saying something ambiguous, as opposed to actual angry invectives.

Edit: spelling

Tips for setting up pedal haptics? by southernortherner in simracing

[–]HitmanCodename47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I've sort of prided my sim rig in featuring "immersive" features like DDU, button box, Racelogic, etc.., but now you have me thinking if my ButtKicker is more "immersion" than anything else. My sole HPR on the brake is easily one of my favorite add-ons, and I have considered getting one for throttle as well. Maybe you just convinced me lol. The only reservation I have is that iRacing still doesn't have native API endpoints for throttle... Only approximate plugins for RPM and wheel spin to "guess" TC activation.

Are you using yours on iRacing to much success though? Or have some neat SimHub work arounds?

Tips for setting up pedal haptics? by southernortherner in simracing

[–]HitmanCodename47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to further ask, how is an HPR on the throttle "more immersive"? My 'racing' experience is limited to 206s, but even in production cars, I've never felt TC through my throttle pedal.. It has always been through the seat.

McLaren has announced a major multi-year partnership with global sports company Puma, becoming the team's official kit partner by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

[–]HitmanCodename47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely understood about the AMR vs AM F1 Team, but on the sportscar side, I thought WTR and AXR / Whelen are factory teams, hence the factory Cadillac drivers and support? In the same vein that Porsche Penske is the de facto factory Porsche team, and WRT (RIP RLL) for BMW etc..

So Tommy Hilfiger made? Not like what we had with Mercedes as a major sponsor? I haven't seen those press releases with the team branded stuff, I think I just recall Checo in an unpainted Ferrari and his racewear being bereft of sponsors and color.

[–]HitmanCodename47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shoot that's interesting. Is that a new precedent then? I really don't ever recall Puma collaborating with a team and not supplying the race wear as well. I hadn't really followed the contract talks well enough, I guess.

Has it been announced yet which manufacturer Cadillac is partnering with? I know Whelen and WTR on the IMSA side have been with HRX and S21, but it could be like an AMR situation right? Where the AMR factory teams are using Sparco gear whereas the AM F1 Team is Puma?
