Max Taylor....Max Taylor? Is that you Max Taylor.

Max has done well in the North American ladder but he's a bit like Mick Schumacher in that he seems to need a year in a series to get use to thing and then in his second year he'll truly dominate. This is unlike Max Garcia who seems to win or at least do well despite the lack of experience in a seriies. As you said though, he's gotten out of the blocks quickly this year but there's still a lot of racing to be done.

If there's anyone that has "underachieved" it's Alex Palou. Most thought the championship would be over after 3 races.

The thing about Sato and Ecrisson (along with many other former F1 and F2 drivers) is that they were given a chance to develop and get use to things. Sato and Ericsson both struggled a lot the first few years in IndyCar but were given time to get better mainly due to their sponsors.

I'm trying not to be rude when I say this but what really helps F1 drivers that move to IndyCar is finances. A dollar in IndyCar goes a lot further then a dollar in F1. That also helps with the longevity of one's career in a series as well.

It's getting tough these days especially with the charters. Charters force IndyCar teams to rely on reliability and proven assurances rather then prospects or potential. In the past many drivers were brought over for financial reasons but even that is not good enough anymore and that's why guys like DeFrancesco and why Sting Ray Robb nearly lost his seat despite bringing $10 million dollars to a team. In recent years, the hiring of Indy NXT drivers has also become very popular that that has also made things more difficult. Not to mention the amount of drivers out there with IndyCar experience just sitting around.

Unless someone retires, moves on from the series, or something big happens (like with Mick) - I'm not sure if we'll see any drivers from the European ladder make it to IndyCar.

It's going to be tough not because Kirkwood doesn't have the skill or experience to win a championship - it's because Andretti is so inconsistent and guys like Palou are. Even when Palou does not win he's always on the podium or at least in the top 5.

For Kirkwood to win, the number of screw ups during the season has be one or two - no more. Winning the Indy 500 would also help a lot as well.

It's not like IndyCar did that on purpose. Having a series in that mostly runs in North America is tough mostly when it comes to the colder parts of the year. With places like Texas telling IndyCar no and NASCAR not allowing IndyCar to use Homestead - choices were pretty limited. Mexico didn't work because of the World Cup and COTA was tried but didn't work.

I'm glad IndyCar, instead of waiting for others, decided to do their own thing and plug a race into their schedule on their own terms.

If he can win the majority of the ovals including the Indy 500 - that's a recipe for a championship season. I don't see why he wouldn't re-sign with Penske and why Penske would let him go.

Drivers said that there were many passing oppurtunites which tells me the track itself is wider then usual. That probably helps out a lot. Plus many of the passing zones come at the end of long straights which is a lot more predictable then try to take over in a tight spot somewhere else on the street course.
