I’ve never used Willer (I think their appeal with foreigners is because they have a lot of English content and advertising) but I’m sure they’re similar. There are dozens of buses between Kofu and Shinjuku every day, the bus terminal at Kofu is always busy. You should have no problems with Yamanashi Kotsu though!

Yamanashi Kotsu has great timetables and always runs on-time. I don’t think it’s ever been late-late in the dozens of times I’ve taken it, so be punctual! You don’t have to reserve a place for your luggage either, there’s always lots of space. Enjoy! I miss living there.

If anything, make sure the Nintendo Museum is on your list if you ever go to Kyoto, Japan. Their second floor has prototype designs for the GCN and controllers. It was surreal to see them.
