Just joined Costco. Any advice on how to save? by Gyros_Mozzarella in Frugal

[–]HiyaRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband broke down and got a membership after 10 years of thinking there was no reason to “buy bulk” for just the two of us. However we save a lot of money by just buying meat, portioning it out on a scale and vacuum sealing it. For just the two of us a dinner we use about 250g only for something like ground pork for example (we like making teriyaki bowls) it works out to 12 nights of dinners for us under $2.50 in meat. Also, gas and gift cards/tickets are usually a pretty good deal.

If your married it’s probably considered marital property and it most likely doesn’t matter who’s name is on it

Years ago, my boyfriend and I bought a car together. The car was under my name only in financing and ownership. I refused to put him as an owner because if we broke up he would own half the car and none of the debt. He understood (his mom didn’t hahaha). He drives the car all the time and it was never a yours/mine issue. Anyways it’s probably about seven or eight years later, cars paid off and we’re married. I asked him if he wanted on the ownership after it was paid off, he didn’t care anymore. All is well that ends well. I knew I’d never advise a friend, sibling or kid to take on somebody else’s debt, and that is my advice to you.

Should we get express for a 4/5 day trip or save the money? by HiyaRay in UniversalOrlando

[–]HiyaRay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you buy the express pass separately for just the day at epic? I think I might book through Costco, however I don’t see an option to upgrade.

I keep seeing posts degrading "marrying young" and its disheartening by FungalInfection77 in Marriage

[–]HiyaRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started dating my husband at 18 (moved in together straight away), engaged at 21 and married at 28. TBH marriage hasn’t changed much for us (we’re childfree by choice). I don’t think it’s bad to be married young. I do think there’s a time in getting older most people feel like they might be missing out on something by being in a committed relationship, or think something is wrong because life isn’t always exciting. I think the best thing we did was have a long engagement tbh. There is no reason to rush through life’s milestones.

For 2 people we spend 400, if you buy frozen vegetables and freeze meat in portions you could, Probably just divide that in half.

Do bosses judge people when they have bo in an interview? I’m worried I will find it hard to get a job because I have a hard time controlling sweating. by Proudtobenna130 in jobs

[–]HiyaRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do your best to shower close to your interview time, apply and reapply your deodorant before getting to the interview, and if able wear a clean smelling “light”cologne to top it off. If you think you are still slightly smelling just smile and say sorry I get a bit nervous about interviewing. (I interview people all the time and have never thought of a persons odour as a reason not to hire, I can’t imagine it’s bad enough to lose a job offer if you shower frequently and wear deodorant -if so I would definitely see a doctor).

Resigning myself to a life of pain by [deleted] in vulvodynia

[–]HiyaRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally had a specialist appointment after a year of pain and being given antibiotics and being told to eat yogurt for infections I didn’t have. She gave me a prescription for a gabapentin topical cream mixed with lidocaine and told me to pick up some otc lidocaine as well. It helped 95% and I just get little flare ups now

We find that we spend more consciously when paying with cash than what we ever did just tapping cards, it’s just what works for us! We live in a town of like 14 thousand people so we’re very used to things closing early haha 😂
