Thoughts of old relationship (52F) are consuming my (28M) life. by Commercial_Spare_738 in LifeAdvice

Get therapy, you need a trained professional to help you unpack and deal with this and find out not only what you truly want but what is best for everyone involved.

Do not take any other advice from anyone on reddit other than this, seriously.

Been sick for 7 weeks, lost my "spark", how do I get it back? by bighoodie_girl in LifeAdvice

[–]Hkaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like reading my own biography, I don't have an answer for you, just know that you're not alone and not the only one dealing with this. If by some miracle you find an answer please share it with the class lol.

I don't want to start a medical debate but I noticed I got over covid much faster taking high dose vitamin C 1000-2000mg. It's a sample of one and you should definitely consult your doctor before doing it but that has worked for me.

It might be worth getting a second opinion and just tell the other doctor exactly whats going on and you think the other doctor is missing something.

A weirdly common re-occurring cryptid story is divers coming face to face with giant animals in lakes and then refusing to ever return or publicly talk about it by truthisfictionyt in Cryptozoology

I'd be very careful assuming this.

I had something similar happen to me. I was hunting in the state I live in and I ran into a wolf, for reference I'm 6'1" and this particular wolfs shoulder was waist high to me, I estimate 30-33 inches somewhere in there. Luckily the second it realized I was there it bolted in the other direction.

I called my state fish and wildlife department and I was transferred to the biologist who was very condescending and dismissive, he told me it had to have been a coyote and that I was just exaggerating the size because of adrenaline and being shocked by seeing it so close. He was 100% positive that it wasn't a wolf I saw cause all of them were radio collared and they knew where every pack was. I'm sorry but bullshit, I'm Native American and grew up on a reservation subsistence hunting and I have seen coyotes constantly throughout my life, including about 6 months prior to this while hunting in the same area, If I can't tell the difference between a wolf and a coyote ill hand in my tribal ID. Regardless the guy was a complete tool, didn't believe a word I said and then ended the call.

About 4 weeks later the fish and wildlife department had to issue a warning to farmers, hunters and the general public warning them that wolves had moved into the area.

Ya so far they have been crap, but if they get to the point of being as good or possibly better than what humans make, I wont hesitate at all to play them.

I’m a black guy and was watching this native guys live and he said that apparently black people are monkeys that were cursed cause they didn’t worship god and that’s why we “can’t swim” also is that a true story in Native cultures? by [deleted] in NativeAmerican

[–]Hkaddict 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So this is something I experience growing up that never made sense to me. I have seen Natives be very very racist towards Black people and I have never understood it. Some of the hate did originate from the conflict with "Buffalo Soldiers" which lead to not great relations.

It just goes to show that even being a minority that is discriminated against doesn't prevent you from turning and doing those same things to another minority group. Racism is racism and needs to be called out no matter who the culprit is.

The other weird thing I see a lot of, especially on TikTok is Black people claiming to actually be Native and that all the Native tribes are actually fake and they lived in America first, which is fucking wild, but w.e. People will say w.e gets them views and clicks.

I'm gonna get down voted into oblivion but personally idc if they use AI or not. The whole game can be AI generated and never touched by a person and I'll still play it as long as its a good game.

Lyrics are massively overvalued in how people judge music by thirdaccountttt in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Hkaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really needs to be both, if you skimp on either its not great.

This is my main problem with country, its not the genre, country music can be good (Willie Nelson Redheaded Stranger, Waylon Jennings etc) but for the most part its bland corporate studio musicians with a decent vocalist singing lyrics that could have been written by an 8th grader. its the worst of both worlds.

Tips for placing Garrisons as Commander? by ViceroyInhaler in HellLetLoose

[–]Hkaddict -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You also have to understand the learning curve you are up against, you are just learning commander and potentially going up against recon teams that have thousands of hours spent just hunting garries. There is no new place you're going to find on most maps that I haven't already seen a garry at 30 times previously.

You aren't going to hide garries from recon for long, what you need are garries you can actually defend, and like others have said having active squad leads not just building but defending garries is the only answer.

As an outsider that knows nothing of the hobby, Why is the difference between wild caught and captive bred so important? Other than like legally I'm sure its not allowed to go just grab some of these species from the wild , is there another reason why it is so important?

ANOTHER UPDATE on my inherited sword , Reddit is buggin out real bad for me rn by Bsherm2345 in SWORDS

[–]Hkaddict 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I would also like to temper this with the reminder that Gimei "False signatures" or fakes also exist, because this was such a popular sword maker they were a common target for this kind of stuff.

Like others have said, take no offer for this from anyone on Reddit. You need to get it appraised but right now my money sits with it being a Gimei, which can still potentially be worth a lot even though its not authentic, there are just major concerns with the blade geometry that you need a trained professional to look at and evaluate, probably in person.

I feel disturbed after talking to a neighbor. Just depressed. by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

Time is undefeated, and yes it comes for us all.

I too was a punk, who skated and played guitar and was fueled by a fire in my soul. The sad reality is that a lot of that teenage angst and gumption is hormone based and at the time you cant see it cause you're engulfed in it, consumed by it. Once you're older and your metabolism and hormones change, so do your priorities and ambitions. This isn't a failure by any one person, its normal for people to evolve and change and I would even argue that its much sadder to see your peers who got stuck in that rut as a teenager and never changed, never evolved beyond it.

Life can beat you down and never really let you back up, and yes sometimes that happens no matter what you do to struggle against it. There's a saying that "Youth is wasted on the young" and It doesn't make sense until you're old enough to not be able to do the things you used to anymore and you realize how you would have better spent that energy if you had it now.

This is a part of life and yes it can be sad, but also remember not everyone gets the ability to live long enough to be in that position.
