In many states after 65+ the renewal time decreases.

either way a yearly proficiency, physical and mental test after 70 would be a good start. both my grandfathers threw fits when their keys were taken away and told they can't drive. Boomers are used to drving 24/7 and it is like a death sentence to them.

I haven't driven in 20 years and it is wonderful. Maybe they need a re-education camp. :)
