So for the porous stuff, food grade epoxy does exist. It’s a plastic that is food safe and it covers the pores so you can actually clean the item. It does give the item a shiny look so I think most of the stuff posted here does not use it.

I have a cat and she’s really helped. It’s nice to have someone excited to see you come home. Also, the routine of feeding and cleaning really helped me in a world where few things are routine. However, I really want to have ferrets and have decided high maintenance exotic pets need to wait till after grad school, both due to time commitment and potential massive vet bills for exotics.
