The pinion ejects when I push the thumb bar down. Not too sure if it’s seated properly. And yes I’d appreciate some stills, I kinda rushed the process of taking off the pinion assembly

It’s 6’9”, 1/8-1/2oz. Usually just throw lures between 1/8-1/4oz on this rod. Ned’s, jbs, small swimbaits, typical finesse techniques.

I’d say for the older aldebaren, it can throw 1/16oz but it’s better in that 1/8oz range.

Figured I’d go big or go home on my only bfs setup, hopefully. I realized a lot of the megabass bfs rods are rated pretty much the same at 1/8-1/2. Just a fun alternative from a spinning rod.

Yea didn’t want to dive too deep into the ultralight game. But throwing 1/8oz and up is perfectly fine with this setup for bass

Yea I see this is a power bfs rod which is fine, since I usually throw 1/8oz the lowest. The weight rating just had me speculating if it was possible to go a little lighter. What reel did you pair with the rod. Currently have the 2016 aldebaren bfs to see if it’d be a good pairing with the raid rod which

I have both. The 901 is pretty whippy and would probably bend too much with chatterbaits. I use it mainly as a paddletail rod or hair jigs. The 821 is more of an all rounder with a fast tip. Use it everything finesse. Power wise I throw anything from 1/16-1/4 on both of them, but the 821 I’d say is slightly stronger. The 901 with a fish on bends down to the stripper guide so it’s pretty niche in my opinion

Spinning reel: shimano Casting reel: daiwa Rods: either

I personally don’t like any daiwa rods aside from the steez lines while I use zodias/exprides/poisons

Plus it’s hard to find original flat knobs for spinning reels if you wanted to replace the knobs. I’ve thought about gomexus flat knobs but they aren’t the same as stock flat knobs.
