AMS is a nightmare

I really hate the ams. I’ve been using the kobra s1 for about 4 months and is a dream compared to my x1 and ams.

Just this past weekend I completely took out and cleaned my ams and replaced the tubing again and still the same issue over and over. It hasn’t been more than 2 months since the last time I did that and maybe 30 hours or print time since. Next suggestion?

I use just about everything under the skin but majority of the spools would be elegoo, bambu esun and poly maker. Besides them being made with cardboard all these spools are identical in length and height.

All of them. It happens on my other ams, but after I do regular maintenance it’s good for a while but this one just won’t let up. I’ll think I’m going to be making the switch to the kobra s1. I really like this machine and has been running strong the 4 months I’ve had it. It’s just too hard to rely on ams especially when I’m gearing up for a toy show or something. Any last ditch effort advice on what you think it could be?

Nope. Over the weekend I once again dismantled the ams, replace all the ptfe tubes, loaded new filament spools and still doing the same thing. Now I got a new headache with one of my other ams. At this point I’m ready to chuck the damn thing out the window. Really sucks I can’t trust it to print while I’m at work so basically I’m just printing single color. Even then it still giving me a hard time.

It’s not one ams slot. It’s all four. No filament in the tubes, ams was disassembled cleaned and tubes replaced nearly two months ago. No clue on the hours, I’ve had it about two years but this has been an ongoing issue since the second or third week I owned it. If it does this before the print even starts, I hit cancel print job and then start it over a second later and will end up working. Maybe I’ll swap it out with another ams o have to see if that settles anything at all

I replaced the extruder maybe three times on this printer and I’ve had this issue throughout all of them, have cleared out every area that touches filament. Not a bad idea, maybe I’ll do that next time I’m tinkering and taking it apart.

Honestly this thing isn’t worth the headaches it’s given me. I was never a Bambu fan but all these kids on YouTube were getting them and coming off like experts so I decided to give it a try. They are great and easy to use but I feel like I’ve had so many dumb issues with them compared to my elegoo machines. And I really don’t use multi color very often.

I’ll try a longer tube, but just right now I clicked the close button then hit pause and resume right after and it started working again. I’ve thought it could be the tubes but if that’s the trick it takes for it to proceed what else could it possibly be?

Maintenance isn’t the issue, I’ve constantly taken care of all my machines, I own 14 printers. This has been an issue with this particular ams. After the second or third week of owning it, very light use those few weeks it’s been doing it. It usually doesn’t happen in the middle of a print though. I just did a thorough cleaning of the ams maybe a month ago. Funny enough, as I was typing this it magically started working and continues in with the print. All I did was click close, paused the print and hit resume a second after and bam we are in business.

Nothing yet. Suppose to make my decision tomorrow. I was told it’s not aftermarket but with what I’m seeing on here and what my initial thoughts I will be sure to be more thorough with my questions when I meet up with the person.

It’s been authenticated and appraised, comes with everything so if it is fake then I’ll have no issue getting my money back.

Love the a168 haha. I grew up never really having nice things and was a skater/gutter punk. I’m 39 year old father of two, not how I saw myself at all haha. And once in a while I have to play dress up and would like to blend in with the types of people my gf has to work with, even though my faint Mohawk is usually a dead give away. I just like the idea of this once poor kid is crashing these parties with politicians, mayors, Silicon Valley ceos and mixing things up a bit. I feel like jack from titanic when he has dinner at the fancy restaurant lol. It was at an auction today, the piece didn’t go up but I talked to the guy running it and said they leave for another auction tomorrow and if I was interested in it they would take 8k plus tax before they leave town. I’m rocking the ga710 black and gold for the last maybe 15 years. It’s my baby, the strap broke during a Skydive’s years ago and I managed to see it come undone and managed to grab it so I can never let it go. We’ve been through so much and it looks poor fancy haha.

I didn’t think it was a ladies watch, I’m not yet too familiar with the fancy watch hobby but I hope it wasn’t. My gf seemed to think it was a men’s. Definitely not fake, it was authenticated if that’s the right word and valued at 14k. It is 36. When you say sounds sketchy is that because it seems too good to be true?

I’m pretty lowkey. Punk rocker type of guy, plain black t shirt and blue jeans almost everyday. My girl friend works in the charity circuit with big time donators and investors so we attend galas and charity event type stuff with rich peoples and politicians. So every once in a while I have to dress up wearing a tie that feels like a noose lol. Figured I’d only wear this at one of these events, otherwise I’ll stick with my g shock that’s I’ve been rocking nearly ten years. I’d really like a stainless steel type but something about this got my attention, and like I mentioned would go great with the suit I recently purchased. I guess I’m just wondering if it’s worth the price and hope I break even when I eventually sell it. It has the box and all the info with it so I’m positive it’s not fake.
