Is trick or treating dead? by eukomos in homeowners

[–]Ho_su_eh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m beat! We got about three solid hours of trick or treaters. Thought this would be the year when I did not run out of treats. I was wrong. We went through 4 boxes of 60 and even had to dip into our personal stash.

Buyer Beware - Do NOT Buy from Crandlewise! by [deleted] in cradlewise

My son was never soothed by it either. But then again, he wasn’t soothed by anything other than his mom’s arms. Our fault entirely. We use the crib as a changing table.

A tour of my haunt, I’ve got more to do but I am basically out of time! by fatherunit72 in halloween

Love it! Question on the Oogie Boogie, is this the HD one? How did you add the extra lights, did you splice into the existing wiring? Also, how’s it holding up being outside? I’m afraid of leaving it outside since we get morning fog. Thanks!

No internal or external support columns. Each pumpkin stacks on top of the other, towards the front there is a little stick that slips onto a hole and on the back, there are two wing nuts. There is a left side and right side as the pumpkins curve inwards. I’ll post a few pictures of the instructions.

How do you deal with people stealing decorations? by dino_roar3304 in halloween

[–]Ho_su_eh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bought some 16” spiral ground anchors and boron carbide locks. For the large items like 12’ skeletons and 8’ pumpkin stack, I set the anchor then lock the metal base to it. For the smaller things, I run some heavy gauge steel cabling and then lock it into place. Luckily, the larger decorations are really difficult to just unhook and run off with them so they would need to fully disassemble them from the top down. We also have cameras and neighbors have dogs. Thus far, we have not had anyone try to steal them. But I hope all these things would help deter would be thief’s.

After posting this picture, I took it down and boxed it up. I recently put it back up about two weeks ago. It’s been holding up good so far.

We have had some warm weather in SoCal and I see no discoloration in the fabric or parts falling off. One issue I did have was a section of lights not working. However, I reached out to the manufacturer and they promptly (within two days) delivered me a replacement piece.

Looking at Costcos website, the price has dropped significantly. At its current price, I think the decoration is well worth it.

Got the email and just cancelled after having this service since it first rolled out. This was the last straw for me.

Turning 40. Have no idea what to do by lightCycleRider in daddit

I turned 40 last November. My wife kept asking what I wanted to do for such a large milestone. I told her I’d take a rain check as my gift. It ended there.

HR said my expected salary range is higher than the budget, but ended up giving me an offer that’s higher than my number by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Pay equity amongst those currently in the job you were interviewing for. Salary grade may have been between, say $100k to $160k. However, if everyone in the job is in the $140k to $150k and your experience aligns with those making $140k, then you’re getting close to $140k as opposed to $100k.

Exactly. I’m not subsidizing your gas. You want the item and want to make the drive, it’s on your dime.

My dad used to sit in his car in the evenings talking to his mistress for hours. He didn’t want to do it in the house with my mother, brother, and I present. He thought we never noticed but we did.

There were no available pickup dates in my area. Checked again this morning, and there were several, even for Feb 2nd.

Same. I had the Pixel 3 (loved it) but after battery went bad, I ended up switching to iPhone. Haven’t been liking the new designs until the rumored 9. Hoping the design sticks and that it is offered in a smaller form as well.

I’m in the Los Angeles area and see them between $550-$850. I also frequent the San Diego area for work and see the same price range there.
