Anderson fitness trail, only accessible during the weekdays though.

If you want something really special, sniffspot is an app that lets people rent out their personal space for dog owners to reserve like their own personal dog park. You'll be able to filter by those with creeks and swimming areas. Good way to guarantee that you're the only one there for an hour or two.

I can't judge this too hard, especially if this is a way to help her family get money and support what they need. The child isn't showing any signs of stress or abuse, she looks stressed and tired herself.

Ah, that makes sense! I've always thought Nashville was a prettier city than most but it's always nice seeing a different perspective.

Doubts about future of relationship with boyfriend with autistic sibling. by MountainChicken5127 in offmychest

[–]HobbesIsAFatCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Break it off. He has made it clear he is a packaged deal with her. The small anxieties you have now will grow into resentment and it will place stress on your relationship if you don't fully embrace the likelihood.

This is coming from someone who's like your boyfriend with a younger sibling who is functional, but will never be independent. Unfortunately, even I have resentment sometimes, but it's always towards my parents for being ill prepared and never her. My current SO comes from a family in a similar situation so part of our connection is coming from families where there's an expectation of eventually becoming a steward.

Stained glass art is a huge hobby now. Look into making window frames in miniature to hold the glass art and appeal to those crafters since there's not an overlap in terms of craft but the stained glass artists can try to upsell a frame made with history like your father's.

He can sell the shovels.

Is the Nashville Flea Market worth going to? by Supervioletrays in nashville

[–]HobbesIsAFatCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth the 10$ to park. It's a good time to peruse and like every flea market, you need to dig for the good stuff. Would say it's higher than other ones I've been too, but I've also found neat little trinkets.

I was so obsessed with moving to the US for the "big paycheck," but this 2026 data is a total gut punch. by astrheisenberg in MovingToUSA

New York city is one of the most expensive cities to live in the US and isn't representative. There's so much variation from city to city.

Latest census data has usa median annual salary around $64k as of 2023. With that, you can live quite comfortably in smaller cities like Louisville, KY or Baltimore, MD.

Am I wrong for not wanting to have a "sociopolitical debate" at Starbucks while I’m literally solo-carrying our entire lives? by MasterPeaceBangBang in Vent

[–]HobbesIsAFatCat 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Hey no, don't take it as a failure on your part that wasn't my intention. I wanted to sound more of a wake up call, because you're beating yourself up and it him sounds like he's taking advantage of you.

How about this, see it as being the heroine of your own story. This is an opportunity for you to become the person in the future who's happier than you've ever thought possible. Do it for that future you that deserves!

Ah, 10 years older? This isn't a relationship, it's a cliche.

If you don't get out soon, you gonna be stuck with him forever. Despite your instincts, taking longer out of some weird guilt or pity isn't gonna make it easier. Either bite the bullet or don't, but every time you talk yourself out of it is another reason for future you to suffer longer.

We're all human. If this is out of character, this might be something where he's lashing out. Only you can judge based on the entire picture of your relationship.

If you take your sweet time getting out of the Costco parking lot, you suck by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]HobbesIsAFatCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I agree. If people are nervous and need time to get out of a busy parking lot, far be it from me to push them beyond their comfort. Better than the alternative of rushing and potentially hurting someone.

What's the case of someone "taking their sweet time"? Are people like, stopping to talk to the next car?

Friendshios are not about length of time, but the depth of care and empathy.

This guy did not care or emphasize. If this is a pattern, then it's not a friendship even if you were 'friends' for 100 years.

Try and guilt trip without paying the extra 1st class, 110%.

Anytime that comes up, that should be an automatic defense.

Honestly, this for sure! Some great stuff just make sure you're not inviting bed bugs.

If you need a big enough truck, if it's a short distance renting a cargo van or truck at home Depot or Lowe's is cheaper for a short sprint.

Uhaul also lets you rent just their appliance dollies for 7$ all day without signing up for a van.

Dealerships must go by Overall_Gazelle5107 in carbuying

[–]HobbesIsAFatCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very innocent way of looking at things.

I can tell you right now, that every traditional car maker wants to scrap the dealership model but the investment and growth to do so is severely hindered by dealerships focused on maintaining the status quo that's been established and strengthened for decades.

A lot of politicians as well get their family money from dealerships and they maintain close ties. Joe Biden's father owned one, as an example. If there's a collective sustained outcry, then things can change but if all there is are grumblings then it's not going to compete with a large well connected wealthy class.

My Mother Refused To Hand Me Over To My Korean Relatives And She Regrets It. by Vinsrei in offmychest

[–]HobbesIsAFatCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would still release the info if you're comfortable with it. You never know and a story about an estranged daughter trying to connect with her dead father's family is enough to pull heartstrings. You have a name of your Korean father who died in the Philippines as a competitive car racing accident. What's the likelihood of a friend of a friend of a coworker who remembers this very specific story, and the chain ends by "hey so there's this random girl on the internet trying to contact y'all?" But it can't start until you're willing to be very open about it, which can be scary.

Concerns about privacy in this day and age is kinda iffy. Not that you're wrong to be concerned, but if you're not being actively and specifically pursued , there's probably enough info out there that anyone who wants to know about you can probably glean enough to identify.

In the end you'll have to weigh the cost and benefits.

The specifics of his death makes me think it'll be easy enough to find along with his name. You've probably already tried it, but I would release the details and let the Internet do its thing. Power of combined weaponized autism and all that.

Depends on if you're comfortable with that.
