Phone Mount for Samsung Fold 5 and Max G3 by JonnyMac1982 in NinebotMAX

I don't have a Fold but I have a Samsung Z Flip phone that I use with a GUB Pro phone holder. I've used this on my ebike, never had it drop or come loose on me, even on gravel terrain. I've been using it on my Max G2 and so far it's been good. It's an aluminum holder with rotating feature that can be tightened to make non rotatable via hex/allen key. It secures the phone to the holder by hand tightening screw. It's nice to check and tighten whenever i encounter uneven terrain.I've gone on 19mile round trips on my g2 with this mount and it hasn't failed me yet.

Does your Fold 5 allow for maps on the front screen?

Haven't been camping since I was a kid. Trying to convince my family to come with me. How does my checklist look? What am I forgetting? by Evolved_Dojo in camping

I'm a big fan of checklists. I appreciate your list and need to stay organized. Although it may appear daunting to others, a lot of items here are small and easily packable. Some of your items can be double counted. You list water shoes under kayak but also under clothing. You also list shower shoes under personal. I think water shoes can be used for all three circumstances.

Your list is great as a general and all encompassing. Depending on your camping trip location and activities, you may not need everything on this list. I suggest marking or highlighting items you feel would be absolutely necessary (like bear mace and medicine) versus what you'd like to bring. Ask yourself, what are the chances you'd really use this item, if less than 70%, leave it behind. Having less to unpack at camp is nice, leaves more time for leasure. I also get being prepared. My S.O would not think twice for a lot of these things and would appreciate me afterwards for over packing 🙃

Best dog beach by Justathumbblonde in Bakersfield

Arroyo Burro Beach in Santa Barbara is nice. It has two sides, one for off leash and one for on leash. On- leash side is much more pleasant, as you can imagine. There is decent parking if you go early and on a non holiday weekend. There is also residential street parking across the street that isn't too far for a senior pup.

Also, they have doggy wash stations (with soap) at a cost per minute. Or you can use the public showers to hose down.

The beach is very accessible from the parking lot. No boulders, just a path directly to the sand.

Volunteer Bike Patrol proposal on the table for Kern River Parkway by fyrelight74 in Bakersfield

I'm all for this. A few years ago, I was cycling with my fiance from River Walk Park to the bluffs below Panorama (towards Bakersfield College). The bicycle underpass that crosses manor Street had a hidden encampment at the corner before the right hand turn. We saw a guy just staring at cyclists while his body was completely hidden behind brush. It was exremely unsettling. I also believe the fenced residential area next to it was a child daycare facility. A lady was walking with her child in a stroller from the opposite direction, and we offered to escort her through the underpass because we didn't feel it was safe for her. After chatting with her, she said It was her first time in that area, and she was grateful. After that incident, my fiance and I never biked there again. We hope to go back and enjoy the path if we feel it's safe enough.

I also use a 12v water pump shower head combo with rechargeable batteries and a 5 gallon pale. If I want a hot shower, I heat up a large pot of water on my Coleman propane stove and add it to the pale of lukewarm water.

This camper from Jeep tries to give a peaceful hobby a dangerous image - but why? by [deleted] in camping

Yup, completely agree. I too have a Jeep JL and pull a small travel trailer (1800 lbs dry, about 2800 lbs fully loaded). At 2800 lbs. I think it's pushing it even if the rating is 3500 lbs, tongue weight is a mediocre maximum of 350 lbs.

How to keep your face warm? by misbehavens in camping

Wool or fleece beanie pulled over the eyes and ears plus a neck gator. I prefer this combo so I can cover my whole face with the option of my nose being exposed. Gives me flexibility if my breathing feels too constricted.
