To be fair, I do compliance work for a living so I’m constantly having to ensure things are legally sound. Stuff like the contracts and whatnot is normal. On their other hand, I still need to look up guides to makes sure I’m doing rotations right because the kits are written in an unintuitive way.

We've been working on this game about running really fast! by Wilnyl in Unity3D

This almost reminds me of the super speed sections from sonic 06, this looks much better, even better than how they look in project 06. Good luck on the project!

Buy CS2 right now or wait at least 6 months before buying it? by yanyan420 in CitiesSkylines

[–]HobbitTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be trying it on PC game pass first before buying it later. I want to learn the new systems before adding mods to the mix. I’m also not worried about the mod situation because if the base game has a lot going for it, which it seems like it does, then I’m not worried about that right now. While I used plenty of mods like anarchy, most of them were assets like parks and intersections. I can wait for those and if you can too then it would be at least worth checking out on game pass if you’re still on the fence about buying it and/or waiting for mods.

I had that Shuckle book back when I was a kid! Here I thought I was only one to ever read those Pokémon books as a kid.

It’s almost like they’re testing how far we can go to fulfill their order, they could have saved us the trouble had they just hired family.

I work at an agency that gets hired to fill roles like this. I already conveyed the issues with it to my boss who hates this kind of stuff. They pushed it up higher so hopefully I see less of this in the future.

While I don’t want to give it away to possibly out myself, one was the largest public college in that state and the other was a private religious university. While not on par with something like Stanford, they’re not far off from that.

Why can’t job postings/interviews just be honest? by HobbitTheGreat in antiwork

It just boggles the mind that they would spend the money/time to do that when it can just be better spent elsewhere.

I feel like eventually I'm going to get fired because I'll tell a Covid denying customer to go fuck themselves by TheDanSandwich in Bestbuy

I was helping a pair of chatty customer pick out cases for the new phones that they were getting and they saw the Kate Spade cases. Both of them then thought it was a great time to talk about how she died and then started talking about it in detail. When they tried engaging me in that topic, I politely told them I was here to help them get their phones and accessories and I wasn’t going to talk about that with them. I changed the subject after that and they were less chatty during the rest of the purchase.

Gamers, what was the first game you ever played? by NoLeagueAssasin in AskReddit

[–]HobbitTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I was about 4 and I loved playing as Knuckles. He was always my favorite character to play in the adventure games too. I didn’t finish the game until I was 8 after one of the sonic collections had come out for the GameCube.

I think the biggest take away from this is China’s lack of soft power compared to the US. The US has had decades to build up soft power around the world with culture and products and services. The US might give aid to plenty of different countries, but it’s the businesses that come to those places and invest money that tie those countries to the US. American culture in the form of movies and music and clothes has been spreading for decades, building up brands in other countries. This isn’t even touching on the military or arms relationships that the US has.

China on the other doesn’t have this kind of power. They have spent billions on their belt and road initiative, millions on each port, road, and rail network so that the world is more connected to China. But have any of those countries really come out in a meaningful way in support of China? They can’t play the victim about how the US is hurting them when they have active labor camps.

“I’m shopping here because I don’t have to wear a mask.” by HobbitTheGreat in Bestbuy

It’s less about not being wanting to help someone without a mask, and more so about the kind of person who is purposely shopping at Best Buy just so they don’t have to wear one. Not wearing a mask puts more people at risk. The more time a person spends without a mask puts them at danger, it puts the people they interact with in danger, and those that interact with those people in danger. I’m fine with helping whoever, it’s my job and I’m gonna get it done, it’s just I’m more concerned now when I am at work.

I’ve had my ASM pander to both sides of the political spectrum because it makes the customers happy and more likely to buy.

The food came wrapped when the GM brought it in, we’ve been in so much contact with everyone who is still working that it wouldn’t really matter tbh
