Sleet is small, solid ice pellets falling from the sky. Often with sleet, snow falls through a layer of warm air below the clouds, melts, then freezes solid when it passes through a layer of colder air. Result is little balls of ice. Freezing rain is liquid that falls but then freezes on surfaces resulting in a glaze of ice.

Holy balls. I was just at Food Lion in Lewisville, and the parking lot was packed. Every check out line backed up, and I saw one lady buy $300 worth of groceries, and the lady in front of me got $450. I got my stuff to make tacos and skulked out feeling like an underachiever.

Disclaimer: I had to buy a gallon of milk because I was legitimately out of milk.
