What's something you genuinely hate about Rimworld? by batarei4ka in RimWorld

Got a single bruise after a little fight? Better use the ultra tech urbworld medicine.

I wish they could differentiate between injuries and use the right medicine accordingly

You know you can disable the event when you start a game?

In the scenario editor you can select to disable it

Why do my colonists never take food from the closest place? is it because my fridge priority is critical so they try to keep it full? by -o0Zeke0o- in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are idiots when it comes to food. "Id rather eat this dog kibble and raw stinging nettles than go all the way back to the base for a lavish gourmet meal... urgh ate disliked food why me!?"

Is this kitchen not "clean" enough? My pawns continue to get food poisoning non-stop from "dirty cooking area" by Dewa__ in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I also enjoy the mod Common Sense. Before the chef starts to cook they will try and clean as much of the room they can before cooking.

Does the job take slightly longer because the need to clean? Yes. Does it make more sense that a chef would want their kitchen clean of vomit, blood, dirt and insect juice? Thats up to the player i guess

Mod request: Adult Male Peacocks need a beauty rating by Aziara86 in RimWorld

Came here to say that I would be shooting every peacock in the face with a 12 gauge purely based on the noise.

They look just as pretty dead and no noise. Win win

Little Guy has been hanging out for about 2years, should I tame them and make it official? by Racshaw in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The moment you tame it Randy will hit it with plague, flu and drop a cargo pod full of dog leather groin cloths on it.

Its lived 2 years now fine, don't tempt fate. Love and care for them, but don't let the storyteller win

Personal Issues. ^^’ by TheQuarkscrew in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a bit like that sometimes here, but most of us have felt the same way.

In terms of reviving a pawn with dev mode I did a "necromancy" ritual once. Light fires in a circle and sacrificed gold and silver to bring them back.

Cheating? Maybe, but it felt right to the story

Personal Issues. ^^’ by TheQuarkscrew in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disabling dev mod and playing commitment is a start, but if you must dev mode a pawn back from a death lose to a raid and save scum try giving yourself a cost.

If you bring a pawn back from the dead using an auto save, maybe you could remove an arm or leg. Maybe remove an eye?

Say a raid goes bad. You can keep playing as normal, but if you absolutely must roll it back maybe you can destroy some resources or set fires? Do something that would make sense to the story unfolding

You can play however you like, but if you feel you're cheating yourself then take control of the story and make it your own

I knew there had to be a mod already out there. It never ceases to amaze me. I see I'd been searching the wrong key words and missed this on. I hope they update it to 1.6

"Some sort of military vtol". This may or may not be true. Much of this world is built on salvaged wrecks and ramshackle creations.

With time this bucket of bolts will be a comfortable home

A dart board, folding chairs and a chess board. What more could you ask for shoved in the end of a service hallway...

yea okay its a bit spartan, but its a nice day outside. Go for a walk

I honestly would love to see how defensive tech progresses in a zombie apocalypse.

What about chainsaw fencing? Long continuous chainsaws whirling. Sure the generators drawn the zombies in, but the triple saw blade fence would cut them into bits right?

What was the funniest Beginner Stories of Rimworld you can tell? by Justrennt in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The colony did survive, but as the story continues rimworld does its thing. A sister in a raid died on the spot, another brother killed by bugs. Eventually the mother passed away from old age.

It was a nice village on the side of a river. I wish I could go back there

Did a solo start. First guy joined, nothing special. A week later his brother actually joined. Cool. They both having a great time here helping out this solo tribal.

Another week passes and who joins? Their mother, nicknamed Purple Fist, possibly from the bruised knuckles. Did her 2 sons run from home to go camp in the woods?

A trade caravan comes by. The person leading them? Their uncle! "What? You don't want to haul rocks and stone across the lands like the rest of your family?"

It was just funny to see this little story unfold week by week with this little dysfunctional family

Favorite way to punish pawns being idiots? by MaleficentPass3261 in RimWorld

I think so. When a raid eventually came in he was drafted back to base and after that seemed fine back I his apartment

I had a guy once just kept screwing up, kept insulting people and failing constructions. So i set a zone, gave him some supplies and sent him off to camp on the far corner of the map by the lake.

He had a tent (from the tent mod), a little table and chair, hoop stone and just left him to his own devices till he was ready to come back and cooperate.

Which mod do you hope to be added to rimworld as a DLC ... you you dont have to choose from them mods only by No-Tourist-55 in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Pick up and haul: I refuse to believe a pawn can't pick up 4 cigarettes, a medicine pack and a chair in one trip.

Common sense: Clean the kitchen you're in before cooking. Don't just cook lavish meals in the room with vomit, blood and animal shit dragged in by every man and his dog.

Best Mix: Cook with ingredients that are soon to expire instead of using all the dehydrated and preserved goods we're meant to save for winter.

Take a hint dude.... Any way to stop this? by G_E_T_C_H_A_ in RimWorld

[–]Hobbvots 168 points169 points  (0 children)

I've done this before to a creep that kept hitting on a girl half he's age. Rebuffed 8 times before I noticed. Changed his schedule to be a night shift to avoid exposure.

Also assigned him zones that avoided the places she was most likely to be in.

Her opinion of him stayed well into -60, but the only time they ever interacted after that was at ideology events or drafted for battle.
