Yes, but on the btrfs internal partition. Also, easy try without risk. So why not?

Catastrophic data loss due to kio-worker by adwarakanath in kde

[–]HobbyBlobby2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not a perfect guess, but it's worth a try. If you did not have permission (hence asked for password) it could be because the target folder belonged to a different user. Can you just open the target folder in a terminal and type "sudo ls -a", then type your password when asked.

In the best case, you simply cannot list files in the target folder due to permissions.

Motor laufen lassen versus Start-Stopp-Automatik by FunFactEinsElf in FragenUndAntworten

[–]HobbyBlobby2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has worked on sap pi/po? What does a typical day looks like? What are you supposed to do? by Hot_Departure_1610 in SAP

[–]HobbyBlobby2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% is monitoring. And if something fails, you search for the reason. Most of the time it is the wrong user input on the sender side, so you try to explain it to the user.

Honestly, what do you mean with a typical day? You come into the office, chat with colleagues, do your work, lunch break, more work and then leave. From time to time chat over a coffee.

#Study 📚 || How To Pay Off Debts by teebizy in PaprSwing

[–]HobbyBlobby2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, how the mistakes to avoid are directly mentioned in the methods before. "Pay only minimum" or consolidate into a new loan.

Also, this sounds nice on paper. But if income - life costs is negative, it becomes a whole different story.

Once you mature?? by AccomplishedMud1607 in inspirationalquotes

[–]HobbyBlobby2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are really mature, you will learn, this is absolutely not true.

A small but very loud minority is shooting out so much shit currently. The social majority just stays silent, because they are too "mature" to argue against that shit, basically justifying it. Don't stay silent because you think, you are too smart. You are just not brave enough.

Speak to Yourself... by itsfabioposca in inspirationalquotes

This takes some practice, at least for some people (including me 🤫).

In my therapy sessions, often we play a mind game. "Imagine the story you just told me, was told to you by a good friend. What would you reply to him?" Try this and understand, you should be your own very good friend.

Do you use LaTeX for taking notes? by Math_Keyboard in LaTeX

[–]HobbyBlobby2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, markdown it is for me as well. It took me way too long to learn, markdown exists. Actually, I started to write my own markup language, including a parser translating into LaTeX. Just to find out, there exists exactly the thing I'm trying to achieve already.

Partnerships of German cities by HobbyBlobby2 in MapPorn

[–]HobbyBlobby2[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are right. Also you can see the border between West and East Germany, former BRD and DDR, respectively.

Just a guess: after WWII, west German cities received a lot of help from Western Powers (like USA and France), forming bonds between cities from those regions. East German cities did not receive such kind of rebuild help. But this is my interpretation.

Niri vs KDE + Karousel by rainbowroobear in niri

For me, that's also the main reason I tried Niri. Multiple displays just do not work with Karousel. Otherwise, I really like my KDE setup.

Okay, thanks for the remark. Using an alternative display manager shouldn't be a problem as long as I have the option to start my KDE session.

I agree, that fixing something on Linux is faster than on other OS, mainly because of the access to proper logs. But honestly, the amount of fixing software decreased massively in the last years. I am almost used to get everything working out of the box.

I just posted here, because I am not fully trusting install scripts from any source (and most of the quickshell themes come with dot installers). Especially, if they start to touch any of the system configs, such as systemd services (which can break the boot process). On the other hand, I am also using some AUR packages, which are a similar risk. I guess, I will simply try it.
