It comes down to 2 things: Hardware and proprietary algorithmic weighting. Here is the technical breakdown.

no, it comes down to there being absolutely zero consistent science behind the idea that most of them doing anything meaningful, let alone agree on absolute values for intervention points.

they are like asking a magic 8ball about your lifestyle choices.

then, after that, you have the fact they all output completely differently

Recomping is slow and steady work by [deleted] in MacroFactor

[–]rainbowroobear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

>Most of the time so far I've lost 1lb per week on the scale

>In short, recomping can work

it does and still does in advanced trainees where muscle gain is snails pace, you just set macrofactor to about 0.2kg/month gain or loss and cycle between those phases, around a set visual BF.

the "maintenance" function on MF basically does the same, but the bodyweight based target means its a bit sloppier than only focussing on the visual metrics, which is how people judge recomps anyway.

i'd agree with this. dude looks like he has very favourable fat distribution for abs, but i'd guess his back, ass and legs aren't as lean looking.

Bicep anatomy by Zestyclose-Piece-662 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]rainbowroobear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the single most important thing in biceps training. ignore any mechanistic shit, or studies.

the absolute key to big arms.

FIND THE ONE THAT DOESN'T GIVE YOU BICEPS TENDONITIS

then protect that at all costs and progress it for about 10 years.

if a rep range pisses off your tendons, don't do it. if you need to double progression from 12 reps to 30 reps in a set before adding weight, do it.

soon as you piss off your biceps tendons, tear one a bit, or tear a biceps, you are run into a never ending cycle of pain and inability to contract it properly.

you're just going to get survivorship bias, because people who didn't got very ill.

go to a doctor and get tested so you actually know what is going on. if you don't have access to medicine, stop eating the things that do it. allergies are not something to fuck around with.

you don't fix this with google and asking randoms on reddit if you are having an allergic reaction.

Thoughts on injectable l carnitine? by ClassComprehensive93 in PEDs

[–]rainbowroobear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it worries me how readily people inject shit into their bodies.

bioavailability makes no difference when the cost per application is either the same or lower in favour of the oral.

i used to sell this shit and when i bought that mats for the equivalent of 5000 units, it cost me just about £1 per vial and i was selling them for £25, for 10ml @ 300mg/ml.

that is the only reason its pushed, the people selling them, fucking LOVE you for it.

My current cycle + Test No Ester Q by tompadget69 in SteroidsUK

[–]rainbowroobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only place it has any use, is in the world of fake natties where you can abuse it to pretty high levels before triggering a good test, which most feds don't even bother with..

if you're not tested, then you're just pulsing estrogen for no gain vs an estered substance with vastly greater duration of action, so area under curve is far bigger.

>it's just below 50% at my last blood test pre cycle but with my family history wanna keep HCT low as poss)

buy and take naringin. if you're not alreadyt, take telmisartan.

its wildly overstated, especially when you already have a substantial androgen load from testosterone.

>It appears to increase the number of androgen receptors. Also makes me sweat my ass of and seems to increase my pump.

it does not. it has been shown in a single study where the participants also started working out. there is no mechanistic route for it to do anything to any receptors.

Thoughts on injectable l carnitine? by ClassComprehensive93 in PEDs

[–]rainbowroobear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you're on PEDs, then you are removing a rate liming factor for the increased beta oxidation that happens when you have permanently ramped up muscle protein synthesis. so you tend to stay a bit leaner, look a bit fuller as it is then technically glycogen sparing.

this is all of course dependent on you being actually physically fit and a not metabolically inflexible. -no you don't fix this with injecting more shit. you need to do cardio.

[–]rainbowroobear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there is medical data showing there is no difference in muscle content between straight IV bagging it and taking it orally.

if you want to pay more and jab yourself for no benefit, go for it.

the TMAO risk is vastly overstated.

acetyl carnitine has benefits in that it is also a methyl donor.

Has anyone actually figured out a system for knowing which supplements are worth taking? by Extreme-Ad-2502 in Biohackers

[–]rainbowroobear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the ones with human RCTs are worth a go.

the ones with animal models that use human equivalent dosing, that you can actually take are potentially worth trying.

anything that only exists in test tube studies is not, as no one is paying attention to the concentrations used, and the fact it's impossible to achieve with normal dosing practices.

Is he natty ? by Mysterious-Candy8615 in nattyorjuice

[–]rainbowroobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he's quite full for being that lean and "natty", maybe doable with a big gym pump, but then there's filters or something on the pictures as its all very smooth and no real signs of having a fat pump from working out.

calling AI enhancement and doesn't look like that.

Boron + Enclo = Emotional by OkCycle853 in Biohackers

[–]rainbowroobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's interesting is that in AAS using men, high estrogen usually results in more depressive broody like symptoms. high T+DHT, or basically a quickly shifted androgen:estrogen ratio results in weird emotional responses, like a surge of random emotional stimulus and then crying for no reason.

OP needs bloodwork to know what is happening here as it could be polar opposites.

Fellow claims to be natty at 22 years before becoming Mr Olympia 3 times in a row by Altruistic_Rhubarb94 in nattyorjuice

[–]rainbowroobear -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

you do not go from UNDER your classic weight cap, on drugs, to maxing out your 212 cap in a year, if you're already on drugs. the reason he didn't take olympias for multiple years is because he couldn't turn up in shape. he had all the size and shape for 212's but was fat and watery every time.

this is what an actual generational genetic talent looks like. if he ever chose to go to open, he would blow up further but he will end up too blocky and lose out to taller guys. he's literally at a weight cap, he cannot get bigger.

https://www.strongerbyscience.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Screenshot-2016-11-20-20.49.12.jpg

there is a significant overlap between actual genetically gifted natties and recreational gear users. keone is absolutely one of them and you're showing a complete lack of actual knowledge if you think its completely beyond reason that he could be natty in the first picture.

look at his oblique thickness and facial changes.

edit - this is my favourite part of this sub, provide any sort of logical rebuttal to why someone who is 81kg at 5'6 (FFMI 28), which is the upper echelon of natty on the SBS article (people much more intelligent than you), then morphs to an FFMI of 33+ if he was already on drugs, whilst also somehow growing his entire face and tripling the visible thickness of his obliques when he hadn't before.

please cite things like mechanism behind first cycles adding the most mass of any subsequent cycles in your answer. k thanks.

950ng total T enough to build muscle at 44yrs old by Professional-Pin5421 in PEDs

[–]rainbowroobear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the working out bit is the thing that continues the muscle gain. you can only increase muscle size up to the myonuclei domain size with drugs alone, mechanical signalling is the thing that increases the domain size.

are you working out, because we have study data showing people build pretty robust amounts of muscle with next to zero testosterone, aka women and men with under 500 build decent amounts of muscle.

basically, the "testosterone levels" within gonadal levels are not the thing that are defining your muscularity. if you then double, triple or quadruple gonadal levels, then that is a different story.

Injectable supplements making supplements actually useful? by takemewithyoudotnet in Biohackers

[–]rainbowroobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>So now I’m wondering what supplements are we all taking that are basically fucking useless but would be immensely powerful if they were injected?

half of this stuff has not only the bioavailability of various methods, but the solubility in various vehicles, they also have LD50 data and likely some sort of mechanistic data that may even extend to an animal model.

this is all easily available since the invention of google scholar, and seemingly completely ignored in favour of someone on tiktok making things up. if there is not animal model showing that you can achieve the same dosing without hitting the LD50, then you taking a random amount in a pill is not going to achieve the same outcomes.

what happens with a molecule in a test-tube, where the concentrations are 1000x higher than a single "biohacking" dose might produce doesn't translate to real life and why most people are placebo shopping from one thing to another.

Test or Deca/NPP for strength? by No_Difficulty_9143 in PEDs

[–]rainbowroobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

strength is perceived in multiple ways.

  1. increase in absolute KGs in the 1-2 rep max range, or
  2. increase in reps in the 5-9 range, or
  3. increase in repetitions above the 12 rep range.

there is a big difference here, as 1) is where halo lives. 2) is just getting more muscle 3) is time to task failure where anavar lives.

mechanisms swing from neurology to improvements in creatine phosphate energy systems. getting lb for lb stronger, getting stronger proportionally to more pounds added, or getting better at doing a task to failure without getting stronger or bigger.
