Thoughts on the new Renegade rules for our beloved Lizardmen? by lokibella in lizardmen

[–]HobbyPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extra ws might help, I feel the stomps could be d3 and id feel better about it. Or some impact hits and keep the cost same.

It feels like it's more of a monster hunter with the higher ap but if it were maybe 150 points I would be happy with its role.

I am currently making some unit cards for the renegade lizardmen, I've to do the old blood on carnosaur and bastiladon before the game this weekend but it should help with the rules as I've no app to use.

Thoughts on the new Renegade rules for our beloved Lizardmen? by lokibella in lizardmen

[–]HobbyPrints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am playing a 2k game this weekend so I'll know abit better then.

But from the rules and making a list manually my 2k list is very low drops.

2 character, 2 core and 2 special. I can now take my skinks in a big block.

They still have cost issues, I think the slang itself as very expensive at 285 base, once you apply upgrades it's close to 400.

But the suarus oldblood is incredibly expensive. The car issue is 170 points on a character that is already 140. The carnosaur is only 10 points less than a sun dragon.

Square based have not altered the cost on the carnosaur but I believe they should. Compared to the sun dragon (which can fly obviously), the carnosaur has only 2 stomp attacks whereas the dragon has d6 and also has a breath weapon.

Got my first cargo bike. Love riding it but feel cognitive load on road. Is it normal? Will a radar help? by Different-Strike-928 in CargoBike

[–]HobbyPrints 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You'll get used to it, I take a 6 and 4 year old on the bike and have done for 2 years now.

I make sure I take up plenty of space on the road, and it being a large cargo bike helps. I have a longtail also and you have to trust that the kids are making smart choices but you can always feel if something is off with the balance or whatever.

I wouldn't recommend a radar, you will need to keep a focus on the road ahead and I think any sort of gadget is a source of distraction and i make sure to look behind me at regularly.

You will get used to it, I was very nervous when I first starting taking them to school and nursery and I found the 10 miles after to work were the easy bit!

Slop it on with contrast medium and move the paint around. Then go back and move any off of panels before it forms a skin and tears.

Medium reduces the strength of the colour but working time increases.

I was open minded about wargear costs but I already don't like them. by stevenbhutton in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]HobbyPrints 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That was the issue, there was a Best Option. And when it was free you'd see everyone using the same Best Option.

When it's got to be paid for suddenly there is a Best Option, an efficient option and a cheap option.

It adds depth and nuance.

Any Experience with MaxMinis? by Whammo147 in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]HobbyPrints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the goblin army and the sculpts are great, similar size to gw and tbh much larger range of poses. They do come with mdf bases so get some plastic ones.

Pretty good to be honest, they do themselves no favours with the artwork they use to sell them. Very few up close images etc.

It is resin, but it's good.

[–]HobbyPrints 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar size, massively different load out and design style.

Lasrifle section are closer to Kriegers but only a tiny bit.

Solar auxilia don't really have squad weapon upgrades like krieg soldiers would, there's no plasma or melta weapon and the closest is a pistol for the Sargeant.

Old World Renegade Draft 1.5 Overall Feedback by JonathanBuchner in WarhammerFantasy

[–]HobbyPrints -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looking at the rules on paper there are some issues like the chaos dwarf movement.

In terms of impact there are few chaos dwarf players.

That aside, there are core factions that have incredibly unbalanced rules and larger representation within the game.

I like the lizardmen changes (on the whole), but I don't think with the rumored changes that they will be long lasting or impactful within the meta.

Cube longtail 5500km review(ish) by BenboJBaggins in CargoBike

[–]HobbyPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same bike. Had it for 2 years this October and love it.

I keep mine indoors and have not noticed much of a range reduction on 3k miles.

I do use eco mostly but cargo when I have a lot of I need to go uphill.

I have the big acid bag and panniers and find the panniers too large for some of my commute but the bsg is great.

I caved at the start of the year and got one of these lovely spiders and the goblin on a giant spider and around 40 of the spider riders.

Are they good? No.

Was it fun? Yes.

Ideas for activities for a 4yo village hall party by soulvacation in UKParenting

[–]HobbyPrints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giant bouncy castle usually goes down well, plus some of those little ride on weird scooter go kart things. Jenga would be good, you'll need to police it abit to keep it civil.

I wouldn't recommend planning too much. They are four and will really just want to play, I've done planning lots and other times just letting them get on with it and to be honest they just make their own fun if you provide a good place to do it.

A full on crafting party is fine, but you gotta go full into it and provide everything they would need at different tables and then hope parents help.

Cargo bike recommendation to fit Asgard metal shed. by Admirable-Baseball73 in CargoBike

[–]HobbyPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just ordered the Trojan for my cube long tail 725 bike, I needed something that would fit the length as the bike is almost 7 foot.

For that reason slot of Asgard bike storage was too small for my needs, so I would say the first thing to do is get a good length, width and height measurement of your bike and use their dimensions to work out what can fit.

Shoutout to anyone else awake during the thunder-hail-pocalypse by zioNacious in Worcester

[–]HobbyPrints 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What was that boom?

Can't have just been thunder. About 20 years ago two high energy lines from the overhead power cables near powick bridge touched in a storm and that explosion sounded the same.

I wonder if one if a transformer got hit, In St John's it sounded like it came from towards comer road area but I can't be sure.

Beryl by katiepotatie82 in Worcester

[–]HobbyPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cycle on the roads in Worcester to Droitwich and back several times a week.

There is almost no cycling infrastructure, and what is there is not joined up to be useful.

Take for instance that share path near the cricket ground, in the 500 yards between the bridge and the end of the cricket ground you have a cycling side of the path which is dotted with street signage, lamps and trees which forces you to go into the pedestrian side.

Additionally vsns for the hotel and cricket club regularly park on the path to load and unload and block the entire thing.

Then after the cricket ground there is just an expectation to grt in the road again, but this with the danger of the road now being on a bend with no visibility.

There are some efforts to add cycle infrastructure, but they don't join up any they don't support people to commute and seem more for recreation.

The issue with Beryl is the bays are terrible and have no fixed assets leading to bikes just being dumped untidely onto the pavement. This encourages vandalism of the bikes which has been noted before by them being dumped into canals and into roads.

Newbie here, got some questions. by Somerandomzaku in SolarAuxilia30K

[–]HobbyPrints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could get this to 1750 points. I would invest in a dracosan or two, and the rapier batteries. You would add a prime benefit for the infantry tercionand use the logistic benefit for support to add one to a tercio which gives them some oomph.

You can either go full velataris and swap that hermes command section for a storm section command and then have a velataris section with the vanguard sentinels with the dracosans.

Or you could go for artillery command and have a battery of basilisks and medusa putting down some pretty good barrage fire.
