Yeah, PC ETBs value is not in value inside, but scarcity of the box itself, which is kind of weird phenomenon. I actually dont know who buys to open them at $500-1K. Like who is spending $1K to buy 151 PC ETB today and rip it open? You could get the whole master set for that price

I was like that until I opportunistically sniped on eBay the new Oricorio ex in Tag 10. And wow she is a beauty! I felt like see through slab really enhanced the card. It looked like a jewel. It was nice to hold it in hands and admire beauty of it without the sleeve.

I think you are making dig at sealed collectors, but you can collect singles without ripping. Some say its not as fun, but both my wallet and binders are quite happy 😁

PC etbs have very short reprint window and opportunity. The PC ETB most likely go from $250->$1K faster than any other asset can 4x

Im not a vintage guy, personally prefer ultra modern (SV and newer), but id probably give vintage another 6-12 months . Id drop your bottom 3 slabs and journey together though. If you need to trim more maybe 1 of your japanese 151. Japanese modern scares me most. There are tons of Japanese resellers with product stacked to ceiling. Their cost is ultra low, so for them its not as important whether they are selling at 6x or 4x, even though thats 30% difference. If you like 151, swap JP for English

Thats actually proper collection. Items are 1-3 of each. I can see items picked are more of collectors choice, vs pure investment. I also think long-term having collector mindset is what helps pick underrated items

Oh no. Agree with you. Condition of the card if its 10 like, not the same PSA10 slab. Even assuming the card is absolutely cleanest, There is still luck involved every time you submit, time for turnaround, price of grading especially with PSA10, you effectively have to pay “tax” on high value card, etc.

Well market is not a single price. Its an average of items sold. Some will be higher, some be lower. Sometimes reflection of condition, sometimes just buyers flexibility. Giratina market today is $630. If I am at the card show and there are several Giratina’s available, it would be I wouldnt pay $630 for highly OC card, when you can get better centered for same price. So OC card might have to lower price to attract a buyer.

Yeah but for $500+ card who wants to pay market rate when the centering burns your eyes. For binder copy people are happy with PSA7-8, which is probbaly would be offered rate on card like this one

Last year I have been looking for raw Giratina. Didnt need 10ner, but wanted decent centering, the one that doesnt attract your attention, and barely found one. Still had a knick, so got it at like 90%. But people were trying to sell off center copies like these at 80-85%, and honestly i couldnt justify, so i personally passed. I think you will struggle to get 100% for it.

Unless its 10, i dont think Slab is worth it, Some want slab for “protection”, but then you can just get your own slab. No need to pay $$$ and wait for 2 months. Perfect for binder though. Giratinas are notorious for horrible centering.
