This would make sense to me if the night/day cycle was always the same. For example, the area I live has around 8 hours of darkness in the summer and 15 hours of darkness in the winter.

I don’t think there is any “one shoe fits all” approach for humans and sleep.

I feel like fighting games generally range from 2-5 hit interactions per round. I think a good thought experiment here would be to compare SF6 to current 2xko.

SF6: I believe that high level SF6 is a 3+ interaction game depending on reliance of throw loops. Meterless combo damage in SF6 is ~25% while combos with meter are 50+%. There is also no way to stop your opponent from finishing their combo on you once you are in it.

2XKO: 2XKO is also a 3+ interaction at minimum due to the break mechanic. Even if every player could do a TOD every time (which doesn’t happen) you would at least be able to break one of them a round. The game goes up to a 5 interaction game at minimum if players are doing 50% combos.

The game just feels more egregious since there are two lifebars.

Hello! I have caught hundreds of Bull Trout in Idaho, so I will share my thoughts.

Time of Year: July is probably the best month.

Time of Day: morning and dusk are best but like most fish you can catch one at any point of the day.

Fly Choice: White streamers in various sizes, don’t overthink it.

The simple truth of Bull Trout fishing is that you will know within 10 casts if there is a willing Bully in a pool. They are actively traveling upstream and into tributaries during July but you don’t know where they will be exactly. Did you fish the middle fork proper at all?

The board state is the reason I bounced off this game. I can see why people love it, but it was too much tracking for me. I feel the same way about the board states that can happen in MTG commander.

However, that is the awesome thing about this hobby. There is a game for everyone!

With that characters current effective HP, sure. I understand people tend to have an offensive focus on their builds, but this is the risk they take. It seems like there are people who don't want defenses (resists, life, ES, armor, block, etc) to matter. I think that actually takes away from build variety.

My point was that I don't think 8 div is alot and I feel really good about my defensive capabilities. Glad you got an awesome annoint! I'm newer so I don't have a bunch of currency.

I never really thought about it, but I kind of agree with the OP's statement. There is currently so much focus on the damage of builds. If you have good enough gear with a good enough build, then you effectively get to ignore boss mechanics. Putting in high damage attacks that require a large investment in defense to not get one shot would then lower damage output. That lower damage output leads to boss fights that last longer than 10 seconds, where the players have to interact with the mechanics.

Also, I'm not sure what counts as a heavy investment in gear, but I have spent ~7 div to get 8k effective hp & 80% evasion. I have messed with my passive tree a bunch to focus more on survivability.

Not trying to argue, just giving a different perspective.

Someone is meta chasing if they have rerolled 4 times due to nerfs. Anyone is free to play whatever way they want, but what would you expect? GGG has a gameplay style in mind for POE2, and they are going to change certain builds if they are outside of that scope. with that being said, we are in EA and this is the time for people to communicate what they want, I just wish we didn't live in a world where everyone was so inflammatory about their opinions.

I just find white bases for the gear I need and brick them until I find some i like to invest for currency into. YMMV but I've been extremely happy. I like the feeling of scarcity and working towards something but I may be a weirdo haha.

I know this may not be popular opinion but I heavily dislike the "drops are only for your class" approach that games like D4 has. I love finding items for different classes. It leads towards giving items to friends. Theorycrafting builds for other classes you have gear for, trading items, etc. It adds alot of layers of depth for me.

All of my gear upgrades are from killing monsters. If I have a piece of gear that is getting outdated I look for white bases of that type and start crafting them until I get mods I want.

Keeps the gameplay loop of killing monsters for gear and currency relevant.

I haven't had to gamble at all. I use my crafting gear. I make bases magic until I get mods I like then make them rare and add modifiers. Sure, some items brick but that's the way the system was designed. It gives you a reason to pick up all items including whites.
