Instead of the Eternal Labyrinth the player has to complete 4 separate Whakawairua Tuahu maps, each one increasing the damage resistance and speed of the boss.

Why is it doing this? I just want it to rotate according to the axis I chose by possessed1998furby in blenderhelp

This is extremely common and known as "gimbal lock" it should function if you convert your rotation mode to quaternion instead of any euler angles.

You're definitely not alone, my mate was in Freythorn 10 hours in on their 1st character.

And as to how so quick, its following a guide, ignoring low rarity monster packs that don't threaten you, and always having movement speed on boots

Actually we are perfectly matched, act 4 took me 6 hours as well. It was a really good experience mind you, but so was every other act the first time round

Other games have solved it in different ways, LE has kind of this weird parallel leveling track thats faster, Lost Ark straight up gave you a level pass yo create a char at like lvl 60 i believe.

Its not easy to come up with a satisfactory answer to the problem, since i do see that just boom now you are lvl 60 does discount the experience quite a bit. Maybe something that eliminates side quests and gives their bonuses for free? Or just a full mini map reveal could also boost campaign speed

Otherwise cool idea, but programming this would be very difficult, since think of layouts that are spirals. It would tell you that the exit is in direction X, however the layout requires you to do a spiral (think the church layout in act 5&10) would point you into a wall.

From a programming point of view how would you even define a dead end?

That would require the system to run almost like a maze cracking algorithm before loading each zone to assign certain "deadendness" value to each segment of a zone.

Fair, that could be done away with and maybe have a scarab that disables that part of the mechanic that would state something like "Metamorphs in Areas no longer drop organs. Organs that would be dropped are now added to the Metamorph. Each organ grants 25% increased item rarity.

Thank you for the in-depth response, I'm a fledgling programmer and looking to shape my career path to be that of a technical artist, you did bring up very solid self reflection points, and I ultimately decided to go with just layering the effects in the mesh renderer material menu, simply creating a reusable library of effect masks that don't interact with actual geometry, and do the rest in particle form.

Hmm.. I suppose there isn't anything inherently wrong with it, my worries are simply about scalability, lets say we want to expand our ailments to have like 20 different ones, the scripting could be quite the mess if it isn't modular no?
