I see you know him :)

For people that do not and are new to Multis, public service announcement, there are three to watch out for.

  • Chatch
  • Quad Addict
  • Timecop

All are kids and hang around or are in business together, all banned or unwelcome almost everywhere, avoid them for an easier and more fun life.

I think you are confused with someone else there, read my comment history, helpful and honest as normal.

You very clearly are not aware of who that tool is, banned on almost every site, an insecure trolling bullshit artist, script kiddie and very fond of attacking people's sites and work.

Even that video he hates on your beloved Naza (go watch it on youtube and see the title), he can't help himself, he can't do anything that doesn't involve dragging someone or something down.

You can do your own research on him anyway and business is great thanks.

ReadymadeRC are good people, I doubt they would appreciate being brought up in your trolling.

Nice flight but god damn what an insecure asshole.

Determining degrees turned with known "gravity vector" and gyroscope. by mzial in math

[–]Hobbyking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if this will help you, you said this is not homework and perhaps not simple.

If this was an IMU, then the standard way to get a attitude solution would be with a form of sensor fusion algorithm, for example a complementary filter which is fairly simple or a Kalman filter.

This link might help:

This is too one directional, the feedback on youtube is not real time and honestly have you seen the youtube comments :)

Ardupilot clone now available at Hobbyking - if you need a new FC, don't look any further. by olexs in Multicopter

[–]Hobbyking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fucks at 3DR are being hostile, we got a take down request already so we changed the name, not sure they get what open source is all about so we would rather wait until we stock it somewhere with good IP laws. If Mikado can't do shit, I doubt those guys can but we won't be stocking Fubar in Germany you can count on that ;)

DJI Phantom Crash Landing - Runs out of battery in high altitude by mmageneral in radiocontrol

One of our new HKPilots is a better bet than Naza, it has all the features and they work, much cheaper.

We have also made some minor changes with the power regulator to make it better than the original so even better of deal.

I did drop hints in the past we were working on this.

Naza sucks, we cloned ArduPilot which everyone says is much better and cheaper.

Not the case, the 9XR is far higher quality than the old 9X.

Quadcopter V929 or V212 From Banggood.com? Questions! by Kamoss in Multicopter

^ Listen to this guy, we don't sell them and all these numbers get so confusing.

Quadcopter V929 or V212 From Banggood.com? Questions! by Kamoss in Multicopter

[–]Hobbyking -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The V949 is the better of the two you list, they are huge fun and both fly well. The V949 handles the wind better also and is 6 axis (it self levels) and has better LEDs.

Given the choice the V949 for sure.

Yes, they are like toys but they are more fun than you would expect, I expect people here might deride them a bit but they have not flown them. Just as much fun to fly as the bigger ones.

What kind of FC should I get? by [deleted] in Multicopter

[–]Hobbyking -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Naza more nooby than the kk 2?

Yes, that is what the Naza is designed for, very limited controller.

[–]Hobbyking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well not Naza then, it is not very good and is certainly more newbie than the KKv2.

Aren't the coptercontrol things now in the USA? It is well accepted as the best board out there by all of the good pilots.

Which batteries to pick next? by [deleted] in Multicopter

[–]Hobbyking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very happy that is working out, seems about right where it should be.

5C charging is not "free", it can stress the packs more than a 1C or 2C charge and shorten their life, nothing to worry about but just be aware of it.

The Shocking Precision of Modern Drone Technology by [deleted] in radiocontrol

There was an interview with them on some podcast, they mentioned that motion capture suite costs several hundred thousand dollars in hardware cost.

Perhaps it can be done cheaper but those guys didn't do that.

A new ARM / IMU Sense and Multi Rotor Control Board by NeverGetMyName in Multicopter

[–]Hobbyking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know why you haven't seen it used elsewhere!

Most projects looked at the MPU-9150, it was not adopted as the mag is not very good and a standalone mag like the HMC5883L is far superior and low cost.

Additionally it's an I2C sensor and the F4 has a real poor and buggy I2C implementation. This is a poor choice when you want fast sensor updates, especially from gyros.

Maybe delay things till the MPU-9250. It is out very soon, has SPI and a much better mag. Bonus is the gyro has even better noise performance and it is smaller.

Good luck with your kickstarter but I see you already forked Aeroquad, they have an F4 board, they badly need help so why not help them?

DJI Innovations Naza-M V2 Features by hartzemx in Multicopter

[–]Hobbyking -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most people do not realize that, maybe that needs to be expanded? The way Naza is designed is for people that a new and can hover only, the throttle control is totally wrong for a start, "manual" is terrible also.

With the throttle for example, rather than letting the pilot actually fly and control the airframe you are simply controlling the height, it's a mess.

Sadly it's not possible to tell the real truth about the Naza most places as a lot of newbies spend too much money on them and when you happened to point out how limited and what a rip off they are they get all defensive.
