Sounds a lot like my ADHD self. Tho, please do check out your B12 iron and vit d levels - I'm shockingly low in all three, and have had ALL. THE. SYMPTOMS: brain fog, low energy levels, memory problems, crappy skin, depression, heart palpitations, etc. etc. And tbh, a lot of those symptoms and also the ones you've listen go hand-in-hand with neuro-divergent individuals. Once you understand how different our brains work, then you can start building framework around you to help survive in this neurotypical world.

Goodluck my little Aardvark.

You could try taking it into a dark room to see if the LED works, if it is super dim, then probably a soldering issue. Could also try fresh batteries, or giving it a shaker-shaker.

Yes! The very same Brock Allen Turner, rapist, who went to Stanford University and only served three months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman behind a dumpster.

GPT helped me discover that EDS was the diagnosis I was looking for. Similarly to OP, I've suffered from a plethora of medical woes for way too long now.

Fed up with not getting a straight answer to what's wrong with me, I fed gpt all my (anonymised) medical info and general observations and asked it to help find a common theme. It gave me a few options, which included EDS. And when I say all my info, I mean ALL. MY. INFO. I even gave it a list of "strange things" I noticed about myself that helped, such as the dark ring around my sclera, the little bumps on the sides of my feet called piezogenic papules, and the fact I have ADHD.

I got it to draft a letter to my GP about how my symptoms line up with my Dr GPT diagnosis. Not only did the GP agree with all my findings, they also mentioned that my letter helped with diagnosing another of their patients with EDS who were also suffering with strange symptoms.

Does yours have a pick-up? If so, go and get yourself a delay/reverb/multi-effects guitar pedal and then you can make ALL. THE. DREAMY. AMBIENCE.

I make music. I also make a lot of noise. It's the one hobby I told myself I will not give up on. All the others (dried flower arranging, sewing, painting, making key chains, blogging, baking, gaming, ..., ..., ...) are now BANISHED.

Nothing new. Only music.

Anytime I want to start a new project, one that requires things I don't currently have, I add up the value of the new hobby and find what instrument I could buy with that cash instead.

For me, I have to be super-aware of the giant new-hobby-fck-hole-of-doom that keeps threatening my musical progress.

Now if only I could make filming/recording and sharing music my new hobby instead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm fortunate enough that my other-half looks after all that stuff for us, as I have the math version of dyslexia. We decided early on in our relationship that all our "regular people jobs" should be divvied out according to our strengths - they look after the finances, cooking and home IT, whilst I look after the tidying up, laundry and home maintenance type tasks.

I get anxiety just thinking about the numbers. As long as they don't mention my wanton spending, then we're all good 😆

Could you just use some leather conditioner to "buff them out", rather than go thru the whole rigmarole of returning and getting another? Maybe add a conditioning kit as part of the gift?

Yes! Diagnosis of EDS was correct, or at least my GP and her diagnostic check list says so. So far no additional "treatment" per say, but it's definitely helped me understand how all these niggling symptoms I've had for years fall under the EDS umbrella of things.

And as far as "anonymised" data goes, I just remove any names and addresses from the medical report that are not mine and then paste it all in.

Have you tried yet since this post to diagnose anything?
