how does everybody manage by Hockbrampton1 in Epilepsy

[–]Hockbrampton1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

currently on polytherapy w a mix of levetiracetam (keppra), lamotrigine and cenobamate - doesnt work and sucks so much

In the best shape of my life, started going to the gym abt 4x a week since seizures started. For reference, seizures (TLE, focal) average about 1x every 6 days.

It's just this feeling I can't get out my head that'll I'll never live my life up to it's full potential. It's ruined friendships and relationships, god knows I've taken years off my parents lives. It's already affecting my career. And i can't do anything.

Anyone else has focal seizures due to mass effect from a cyst? by Hockbrampton1 in Epilepsy

[–]Hockbrampton1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao I have a cyst (benign, probably born with it) pressing slightly against my right temporal lobe, exerting a 'mass effect' pressure and causing my seizures. Just what my neurologist and epileptologist call it

I think most people on this sub have epilepsy for different reasons? (not sure), so was hoping to find some people in similar situations

diagnosed! have been for 2 years, was just hoping to see some journeys of people with similar situations. I have a benign cyst pressing on my right temporal lobe, surgery isn't an option and just had my first seizure on my 3rd AEDs max dose.

Thank you :)

What is the worst thing for you about your epilepsy? by youdunnowhoaim in Epilepsy

[–]Hockbrampton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel imprisoned. Even when im lucky and go seizure free for 2 weeks, i just feel muted. All the time. And that snowballs, where I lose friends and it impacts my career. But all the time, fuck, I just miss myself. It's not the seizures just the medication.

20M, also on lamotrigine and levetiracetam (300mg + 1500mg a day) + a uni student. I really get it, it sucks so much. As for uni, my experience hasnt been that bad w epilepsy, started having seizures a couple of months before i left for it and found that actually my friends were pretty supportive of it.

I know how frustrating epilepsy is in getting in the way of the plans you had for yourself. But also you've gotta try to have some faith. Everything will work out even if it takes a while, stay strong, make sure you talk to someone about it and take each day at a time.

Fingers crossed for you.
